Which Should I Get?

I have a gift card to a local retailer and have a few choices of knives I can afford and would be useful to me.

I narrowed it down to the Sog Spec Elite I, Benchmade Ultra Presidio, and Benchmade Mini Griptilian with black blade and OD handle.

I know these knives are all very different, but I don't really need another knife, and these appealed to me. Plus, I think we can all agree my gift card money would be better spent on a knife rather than socks, whether I need it or not!

Please let me know what you think! I have no specific use for these knives apart from EDC and various medical/law enforcement tasks.

Edit: Anyone know if the full size presidio ultra has full length steel liners?

I don't own any Benchmade but the Griptilian looks nice.
I own a Sog but not that one.

those all seem pretty good, but if it were me id have to say to go with the new mtech knife with the seatbelt cutter and glass breaker. saw one recently and thought "thats more knife than id ever need but it'd be great for someone who needs a tough new blade. i had to pass because it was marked up to $9 and i know it will go off on clearance once they do their big fall clearance sale. but maybe you'd be interested in it if you can find one. you can never go wrong with a good mtech.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'd really like to stick with these three, though.

Nephron!! Please ignore that first response......smells like troll bro.

Either Benchmade will serve you extremely well!! I'd it was me, I'd go with the one that catches my eye the most........Presidio......but that color combo on the Grip is so cool!! Ugh
You truly can't go wrong with either!
Good luck and let us know which you pick up!
Joe

i would actually go with the sog spec elite 1. the presidio ultra is benchmades budget version of their benchmade 520 which is nowhere near as nice. also i would prefer the sog spec elite over the mini grip since i like bigger knives. i own a spec elite 1 and its a pretty decent knife, made in japan. some sog knives have problems with play though, so make sure you check yours out in person and make sure to get one that has perfect lockup. also the plastic edges of the spec elite one feel a bit sharp sometimes in the hand, see if it bothers you or not.

As someone who EDCs a BM Auto Presidio at work and a BM Mini Grip off duty, I'd vote you buy the mini grip

I have a mini grip in that configuration. The black and OD green really go good together. Besides that...it's a great EDC knife.

Troll Glenn. Ignore.
Joe

didn't realise id be put down so hard over what pocket knife I carry. it was a gift from a now bygone individual who I considered to be a friend. I apologize if its not up to your standards

Can we please get back on topic? Or at least stick to meaningful suggestions instead of quarreling over whether or not a 9 dollar knife is worth it? If it works for you, great! However, I might find my life depending on the knife I have at the time, so the knife I carry can't just be good enough to get by...it has to be excellent and dependable. I have plenty extreme budget knives, such as Smith and Wesson and Gerber, but they stay at home to cut packages and boxes. Only knives that are tested and proven make their way into my pocket for outside the home and duty use.

Mine too Neph!! It's so much more eye catching than black scales and silver blade!
You will love that knife!!
Joe
