Which small Fixed for EDC

ok then izula or bark river necker?

I noticed you said one of the things you'll be cutting is fish.

If you're going to be using the knife in and around water, especially salt water,
the Bark River might work better for you because it's stainless rather than (coated) carbon steel.

They're both real fine small knives with excellent build quality and great companies standing behind them.

The carbon would be fine, as long as you wipe it off after use. The Izula is the better deal, IMO.

Let me be the contrarian. I just like the look of the Bark River Necker better than the Izula. Either one will serve you well I'm sure. The price difference is not that much. Pick the one you feel more attracted to. And, enjoy your choice!

Becker Necker... bk11... love it alot more then the izula... first post WOOT!

my biggest problem is that I want to carry anywhere except a plane or a secure building and not draw a charge...

Izula or a Becker Necker. Get the belt clip for either, mount the clip to the sheath facing out, wear them between the pant waist and belt around 4:00 to 4:30 with a wrapped handle. Outstanding and comfortable EDC that way ;)

Well, that'll depend on the knife laws in the jurisdiction(s) where you'll be carrying the knife.

The Becker Necker, Izula, and Bark River Bravo Necker are generally similar, but do have their obvious differences.

Just for one example, the Becker's blade is slightly more than 3" in length.
If you're going to be carrying in places where fixed blade carry is legal where the blade is less than 3" (again, only for example), you'd of course want to opt for the Izula or Barkie which both have blades shorter than 3".

Also, there are many places other than planes and secure buildings where knife carry is very restricted (if it's permitted at all).

If you can grab one, GL Drew makes a small fixed blade called "The $65 Knife". They show up every so often in the custom fixed blade for sale section, and disappear just as quick. Great little knife, if you can find one.

I did not go to much into detail..but where I will be going a 2-2 1/2" blade will be fine

i just used those to areas as an idea...

I keep up on laws as much as possible....

I have 12 years experiance as a LEO....so I am warry of overzelous cops...

I'm going to be a contrarian, and suggest the Bravo Necker. Now, the izula is a fine knife and you probably would have no regreats if you were to buy it. However, if the extra $20 does not put you off, personally I like the uncoated blade and hollow grind on the Bravo Necker, both of which IMO make for a better slicer.
