Which Spyderco are you carrying today?

This was my impulse buy for the day. I wanted a new work knife and I decided no more fretting over my edge being perfect. Old school steel with a full Spydie Edge on a blade length that won't scare people but will still handle all the work I need it to. Rock solid compression lock.

I dig it.

As a lineman, my son wants only serrated knives! He rotates between the Bodacious and Shaman along with a Milwaukee Hawkbill! I think you’ll like how that knife performs.

Not to take away from that light. Which is beautiful and I’m definitely gonna look into getting one of those bad boys.
But I got this about a year ago for $10 on Amazon. And I can tell you working nights I have used this thing at least 300 times in the last year. Always dropping stuff, it’s so easy to use and bright.

I find that my keychain light is used more than any other light. It’s always on me. Great edc items that are truly usable. Everyone should have a keychain light.

2 new one arrived today from Northwest Knives.

Mantra 4 - 8Cr13MoV

Initial impression on both is great. The 'Jumbo feels rock solid and is quite hefty. I love the hollow grind too.

The Mantra 4 is snappy, plus has the option to open via flipper tab. It seems like it would be a great office carry. Sleek and indiscreet

I took the Mantra 4 apart because I am compelled by an unknown force to disassemble new knives and see how they work.

There is a single nested liner. The blade runs on ball bearing washers. And there are internal stop pins on both sides of the blade tang. The stop pins run inside tracks that have been milled out of the G10 liners. There is a stainless steel washer that is glued to the the inside of the non-liner scale to act as a race for the ball bearings on that side.
