Which Spyderco are you carrying today?

For the first time ever, I'm leaving the house with a Spyderco in my pocket.
I don't want to think about how many I've bought, and not liked enough to carry...so I'll just say that this is my third PM2.
Why this one?
Because I left it sitting in my cart until I ordered a set of hard anodized aluminum scales (with deep carry clip). I've felt since I first handled a PM2 that the scales were the weakest link; and now I'm convinced that I was right. These scales transformed the PM2 into the knife I'd hoped it could be. (Now I have to start working on my other Spydercos - maybe a few more of them can make it into my pockets.)

Where did you get the scales?

I'll take G10 over aluminium scales any day. I can assure you the aluminium didn't make it better or stronger.

Although I can't argue against your opinion if it's strictly about looks. We all have a different idea of what looks good.

I have nothing against G10 scales - in fact, I rather like them. It's Spyderco's scales in particular that I don't care for, and it isn't limited to the PM2 or their G10.

I wasn't going for looks or strength - I wanted something that felt better in hand...and these do, to me. You can assure me that the aluminum didn't make the knife better, and I would respect your opinion for what it is...but I won't agree with you. In my opinion, FOR ME, they made the knife better because I will now use it. (FWIW, the action seems much smoother now, as well - and probably more so than I would attribute to me lubing it during reassembly - but only time will tell.)

Where did you get the scales?

But like kjd2121 asked, where did you get the scales?

I've answered this twice now; but apparently my internet is breaking (a common issue in the summer, since I moved to this house)...as the saying goes, third time's a charm.

And, both previous times I planned on updating my post this morning, so I could add pictures.

Do you really carry it around like that? I mean, if it works for you run with it - none of my business - but I think even a single zip tie would bug me.
Is there some purpose to them, other than simulating the Emerson Wave?

First zip tie used to wave from left pocket. Second zip tie used to wave from right pocket carry. Last (closest to handle) zip tie to pinch the knife between index and thumb when doing precision cuts (like drawing with a pencil, I do this to mark and slice open fine plants, vines and thin green branches and plants).
All my camp chores Spydercos have these three zip ties!
