I'm really starting to like this Para 3 (it's my only one)

I love the red.

I received my first Para 3 (Camo) a couple of weeks ago and loved it so much that I ordered another in black with the partially serrated blade.

Sharpest knife point I have ever handled. I found that out the hard way.

Can you tell more about it ... does the spine retain its thickness, do you change the grind to be symmetrical (not chisel) and how do you find it works with shallow serration ?

The spine tapers down. Tip is significantly thinner than it was initially and thinner than a Para 2 ot military as an example.

The grind is more symetrical yes, but the edge remains chisel. Keep in mind the knife is 6 years old with heavy use behind it. I have sharpened it on a bench stone most of the time giving the less agressive teeth.

The serrations do not tear as they use to but rather just cut like a normal edge but edge retention still remains high as the scallops protect majority of the edge from deformation.

I am planning on regrinding the serrations to be more agressive as they use to be.

Thanks! That’s interesting and shows a knife can last a very long time :D

I took the plunge and bought a Millie, and so far I love it. I made sure to get one with the latest round of CQI, as those all sounded like positive changes. It handles like a dream, and it's a great example of all the things Spyderco does well.
