Which Spyderco are you carrying today?

That's a nice combo yourself! How are you liking the Vrango? I've caught my finger hovering over the order button a few times, but haven't pulled the trigger. I was kind of hoping to hear some other people's opinions about it first, but havn't really heard much talk about it. It has quite a unique blade shape, seems as if it would work nicely for a variety of tasks!

Thank you, sir! Sorry about the slow response, I was pretty busy this weekend. Anyways..

The Vrango is a nice little knife.

Like you mentioned, the blade shape is what drew me to it. The hollow grind with the perpendicular ground flats is gorgeous.

A few things I dislike about it;

There's no cutout near the lock so it's not the easiest to unlock with the meat of your thumb. I've heard people complain about this on the GB1 but I never had a problem with that model. You can actually see a little skin on the lock in the next picture :p

The next thing I dislike is the clip. It has no business being on a knife this nice. It also doesn't match the design..

The size is a little awkward as well. It would make a great candidate for an XL version, or even a mini.

Overall I like the knife, even with the few things I listed that I think could be improved upon.

The fit and finish is on another level.

Hope this helps! If I wasn't doing this from my phone I'm sure the mini review would have been better :D

Hey man, thanks for the info! Those are some great pictures! As you mentioned, you gotta love that Taichung fit and finish. :thumbsup: That thing looks flawless! I agree that something could be done with the clip to improve the looks though. But overall, very nice. Thanks again!

You're very welcome, and thanks about the picture quality! I still only used my phone, but waited until I could get some decent pictures to show the fit and finish. The knife is worth the dicounted price I got it for, but at the ~$190 current price I would hold out for another Taichung gentleman's folder. One good thing is Spyderco seems to be pumping out some really nice knives lately. It's bittersweet with the prices, though... :(

A couple of great blades you've got there. Love that Stretch! Those scales look amazing! I've been putting off having some made for way too long.

Got back in town last night and the Boomer scales were waiting for me so I just had to put them on; love the heft that the Stretch has now!
