Which Spyderco are you carrying today?

Deep carry makes the difference between carried or not on some knives. Loop-overs sometimes provide additional grip for different opening methods too. I'm more an MXG guy but Lynch makes a quality product.

It's fun finding out that different clips work wonders on different knives. The MXG on my Smock was a random one I had in the drawer and it was just right. Since I forgot to post it here on Spyderco Saturday, this older picture shows the clip.

The main reason I like the LynchNW, other than all of the options for colors and textures, but is because when I go to retrieve my knife from my pocket the hole at the top of the clip allows me to get a better grip on the knife to withdraw it. I am basically pressing the tip of my finger into the hole to pull it out. I also like that they have more curves and are wider than the MXG clips.

PS: I can dibs on your mug if you get rid of it.

I never thought of that. I've adapted to regular deep-carry loop-overs and the MXG works like that.

Coincidentally, retrieval is part of the reason I like tip-down when I carry against the right seam of a rear pocket. I carry tip-up when I carry in the usual pants pocket but reaching back to a rear pocket causes my hand to engage the knife differently. Tip-down then makes for a more convenient hand transition. Shirt pocket goes the same way when it lets me start with my finger on a flipper tab. (Shirt pockets are the only reason that a Kershaw Dividend survives in my EDC rotation.)

PS: The mug was a gift from the wife a few years back so I'll keep it until one of us breaks. 😜

how do you like it so far? is the handle width thinner than a regular manix? it looks thinner, but maybe its just angle of the shot-

Same as any other G10 Manix 2. It's a good design, the more I use the Manix 2 the more I appreciate it. Have owned and used the S110V G10 and Lightweight versions for a good while now, both are very good.

Have only had the 15V for a day so can't give an informed opinion on the steel just yet.

I carried my Smock today in my right front pocket (Benchmade shootout in right back, SAK in right cargo pocket), and decided to install a LynchNW deep carry clip onto it tonight.

I tried a long standard deep carry clip, but it didn't look quite right even though it was the same length. I had a stonewashed short standard clip with the feather logo on it, and that worked out much better. While I was at it I found that the long clip looked great on my sprint run PM 2 in S45VN with the forest green diamond arc cut scales.

I decided to also upgrade the clip on my Benchmade Mini Griptilian with 154CM tanto and AWT scales - I took pictures side by side for size comparison, I hope that's okay.

After - the clip rests on the scales perfectly between the cutouts:
