A friend told me yesterday he remembered a quote from Decon saying the Chinook II and II were perfectly good in their own right, but that the Chinook I could baton through either of it's successors. After carrying this one for a while (much overdue), I can's say I agree. IMHO, this is the best and most balanced version of the 3.

I guess some think that the smaller opening hole (less materials removed) and the superior amount of blade flat area (adds blade strength and mass) would lead people to believe it is superior to the II or III. Scientifically that seems to make sense, but I am thinking it is a minuscule difference in the real world.
 
Still my Manix 2 XL. My perfect EDC so far, been looking for the perfect one for 13 years and couldn't seem to keep only one knife in my pocket. This ones been in pocket a few months consistently.
