I'm trying to decide which Spyderco knife to purchase for EDC use.

I'm currently using the Tenacious, which I enjoy as a good starter knife, but I want something of higher quality/durability. Size/weight isn't really a concern for me. I'm looking for something durable, with good cutting ability and good blade retention.

I'm open to suggestions, but so far I am considering (in no specific order):

1. Gayle Bradley

2. Para 2

3. Sage 1 or 2

4. Superleaf/superhawk

5. Chokwe

6. make me a suggestion

Thanks for looking!

Well I've been EDCing an FRN Native for a while. I really like it, it holds an edge, it has good ergonomics between the finger choil and jimping, it's friendly looking, and light. Pretty much the only thing I don't like about it is the pinned construction, but you can get one with a different handle material and it uses screws.

in order of my preference & i'll add a few:
para 2
sage 2
military
gb
endura/delica
manix 2
chokwe (seelow123, yes this beat the superleaf lol)
superleaf/hawk

Depending on what blade length is legal in your stretch of the woods, how about the Stretch FRN? I like mine and 3.5" blades are legal here...:D

Definitely the para2 if you don't mind the longish handle. Sage2 comes in as a close second for me. The gb is an excellent choice as well.

Also might want to take a look at the PPT. Handle one if you can ...

I'd like to avoid the FRN handles, for whatever reason my hand doesn't like them. Maybe I just didn't like the width of the handles on most of the knives.

I gotta say I really liked the feel of the sage, but it's a bit small for me. The para 2 is solid, but I wasn't in love with it.

I haven't been able to see the other choices on my list in person. I kind of like how the Gayle Bradley can take a patina giving it a nice worn in custom feel to it.

The chokwe and superhawk are just cool looking knives. I can't decide!

I would say Delica/Endura in that order. Both has G-10 model if you don't like FRN. The Delica G-10 might be hard to find, Endura G-10 can be found on the bay.
Native5 will be my 2nd recommendation.

I think I've narrowed it down to gayle Bradley vs superhawk. I know the superhawk is unconventional for an EDC but the tip seems great for pull cuts.

You won't go wrong with either. The superhawk might just be harder to get than the GB.

Spyderco gayle bradley hell of a knife.Blade steel, materials,F&F,lock, overall build quality in my opinion best spyderco ever build.

I have a Superleaf, same handle as the hawk and I gotta say it's a great handle, almost perfect ergos. I love my Superleaf for EDC. Some people complain about the weight but I don't find it all that heavy especially after carrying a zt 0350.

I've got a Centofante 3, one of the thinnest blades Spyderco makes. Love it. Very sturdy but an incredible slicer, and it's one of the cheaper VG-10 blades.

Of those two, the GB has a far more useful and versatile blade shape. Hawkbills do a few things very well and many things poorly or not at all. The conventional blade shape on the GB can do a lot more of the things one normally needs to do. And I hear it is an extremely good knife, I do not have one myself.

Out of the list Para 2 all the way, personally though I prefer the Military because of the liner lock and larger blade.
