Which Spyderco next?

I am wondering what Spyderco model to look for next. I don't NEED any more knives at all, so this is for collecting and EDC rotation.

I have been thinking hard about a barong, though I have heard that it is a sin to have 22 Spydercos and not one Military or police model in the lot. Not even an Endura 4.

Lots of other ones that I may get, hopefully one in the $100.00 to $150.00 price range, thought the S30V Manix 2 is still calling to me at roughly $200.00. The Poliwog has also caught my eye a few times.

Here is the Spyderco part of my knife collection so far.

Rock Salt - possibly my favorite knife overall
Endura 3 PSE Qty:2
Endura 3 SE
Endura 3 PE
Pacific Salt SE
Pacific Salt PE
P'kal Qty: 4
P'Kal trainer - FE (false edge?)
Temperance PE - love the Temperance style, my only Spydies without a hole!
Temperance SE
Temperance trainer - FE (false edge?)
Manix 2 PE
Tenacious PE
Persistence PE
Lil' Temperance PE
ladybug PSE
Native PE
Delica Wave PE
Tasman Salt PE - On the way! :-)

Thanks!

I dont have a police or mili either (yet) but I would suggest a chokwe, or the barong as you said. Both are very cool knives, feel great in hand and perform well. Let us know what you go with.

Lots of recommendations on that CF Caly 3, I will have to check it out, and definitely get a military and/or paramilitary before long.

Assuming that I was the first responder, I just grabbed a near-new Tasman Salt for $50.00 shipped, so I guess it is now which knife after this latest rust-proof one.

I really like the H1 steel.

Thanks for the suggestions. That titanium sage ii is tempting too, and I have been looking at the Persian and mini Persian for a while. Never seen the chokwe, time to look it up.

So many knives, so few dollars......

Wow
It's not a collection without a Mil or P-mil. ;)

That is what I was told before. That will almost certainly have to be my next one.

Love your picture/avater, BTW. That is the best Vic Mackey sneer I have ever seen.

That Caly 3 CF looks so nice. I think it will be the next one, then a Military or Paramilitary, then a Barong.........

This was so much more simple 16 years ago, but not as much fun. :-)

You MUST have a millie, definitely a paramillie for your edc collection. Another great must have is the stretch.

ya ya! the mili is big! but its light as hell and shrinks withing days! lol! get a mili in ur coolection before you call it a collection!

All I have done so far is come up with the following wish list. Not necessarily in order of purchase.

Military
Paramilitary
Manix 2 CF
Caly 3 CF
Endura 4 Wave
Sage II Titanium
Poliwog
Persian
Barong
Mini Persian
G10 Police
Atlantic Salt
Aqua Salt
Temperance 2
Bill Moran Drop Point
ladybug Salt
Lum
Blue Stretch - coming soon

That would bring my Spydie collection to 40. Hopefully I can call it a collection then. :-)

I guess I should keep saving my pennies. I also need to check out the Leafstorm. May as well have at least 40 to 50 Spydercos.
A friend asked me why I needed so many knives. I told him that it could not be explained, you have to be spyder-bitten first. I have also been Kershaw-bitten, but the Kershaw bite was less financially painful.

Thanks!

Pat

OK, time to add the Leafstorm to the list, and maybe a Cricket too. I like the small blades a lot. That Leafstorm looks very, very nice.

Damn you Spyderco! :-)

Whoa! A Spydie collection that big and no Military!? Go out and get one... now!

You might also consider a Police model. It was one of Spyderco's earliest designs and still an excellent big folder, IMO. Also, if you are that fond of the Rock Salt, you might want to take a look at the Hossom line of Spyderco fixed blades. I've got one of the Dayhiker models and love it.
