These are the ones that catch my eye. All are between roughly $70 and $120, which is my target price range for my next purchase. It would be an edc, probably carried with something else anyway, which is why range in size / style.
I am leaning towards the JD Smith, just because I like the looks of it. If anybody has specific thoughts on any of these, either way, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Spyderco Carbon fiber Sage
Spyderco Manix 2
Spyderco G-10 Delica
Spyderco G-10 Dragonfly
Spyderco Chokwe
Spyderco Carbon fiber Lum Chinese Folder
Spyderco JD Smith

id say sage or lum

both fit in the hand great. the lum looks so classy, and the sage is cool too.

I have the Sage 1 and love it. Perfect fit and finish. Great razor sharp S30V blade steel. Carbon fiber is superb. Locks up solid and operation is smooth.

after reading your title my first thought was 'all of em!', but then i thought hes probably not that wealthy so sage 1. and then i saw its on your list, so i sage sage 1! a lot of people like the manix 2 as well, but i didnt find it very comfortable in my hand.

If you are looking for a sidekick, the dragonfly is the way to go. It is a worthy secondary knife, and complements larger knives, like the military, well. Mean cutter, and won't scare the more sensitive souls out there.

I EDC a Manix 2, but wouldn't mind buying/carrying a Sage.

BTW the Manix 2 is a rather large knife to be considered a "secondary" blade. Not quite as large as a military, but it is rather large.

Just to be clear, this knife is not necessarily a secondary knife. This might be the primary and then I'd carry something smaller to use in case sheeple are present. This purchase could be for either or, I haven't decided, hence the presence of the the larger ones and the Dragonfly.

Also, the CF Sage is a liner lock - being a Spydie, I assume it is a tough well made one? Anybody know where to find a pic of the lock-up?

I know it's not on your list (maybe you already have one?) but I think the CF/Zdp-189 Caly 3 would be a great choice.

On your list, I'd vote for the G-10 Delica.

Are these still available? Where? How much?
These are similar to the Sage, but with a back lock instead of liver lock right?

I see the zdp ones regularly and cant believe they can still be had for around $100, but then again, havnt been keeping up so maybe they are still in production  The caly 3 is the best slicer I have ever used. By looking at pics, I always imagined the sage to be very similar but if I recall (sold the sage),when I finally bit the bullet and got a sage 1, it was much beefier all around. I liked it and was very surprised how well made it was, but Im a sucker for the caly 3, esp the zdp/cf version which doesnt cost much more then g10 versions. Its such a joy to carry! Its light, slender, rides the pocket great,, looks good, CUTS BIG!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, for large carry and usage, I love the manix 2, esp the flat ground models (they seem to have a slightly different action which I prefer), that and they slice really well. Also, I for one love the lock set up, I can manipulate it easily/safely

I ordered one for Christmas, so I would think they should still be available if you look around.

I got mine from New Graham (I think), and snagged the last one they had.

It is a back lock, which I prefer (I'm a lefty) as it is an ambidextrous lock. I'm also really glad the lock isn't made of livers.

I have a Sage II, and now I'm about to sell it to a friend. I find the Caly 3 to be orders of magnitude better ergonomically--but I have weird thumbs, so don't take my word for that.

The Sage II, Caly 3, and Delica are all roughly the same size. I prefer the CF to G-10. On such a small knife, I don't think Titanium is worth it.

Out of all these, I would say the one that you absolutely cannot go wrong with is the Sage. Just a great EDC blade.

I can take a really crappy cellphone pic when I get home and attempt to show you. They really are extremely similar in size, the Sage II is just a fatter knife.

Kinda curious about why the Para2 isn't on your list:grumpy:. If anything, I would save up a little more and pre-order the Para2 with CTS-20CP steel.

If you like the look of the JD Smith, then buy it, I'm sure you will be happy with it.

I have a Centofante 3 and I believe it's about the same size as the JD Smith, I found it to be just a tiny bit longer for EDC carry, but it's still fine, did I mention the thin blade? man it cuts so good!
