Which Spyderco?

I have around $120 to spend on a new knife, which I think will be a Spyderco. I looked at the Military, but I don't like it because it's too thick IMO, and I don't like the blade:handle ratio. I'm looking at the Pacific Salt right now, but I'm open to suggestions. I like as close to a 1:1 blade:handle ratio as possible, around 4" blade, no more than 3mm thick, no recurve in the blade, and preferably no liner lock. I'd like the weight to be under 6oz. Also, I'd prefer an uncoated blade, but it's not a deal breaker if it's coated.

Did you take a look at the Manix II...in either of the variations it has out now?

Are you talking about this one? http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=SP101GP2
I don't like it for the same reason I don't like the Sage; there's not enough belly. Also, I already have a knife in 154CM and VG10, and I want to try a different(better?) steel.

digicam paramilitary! :D

I don't like the blade shape on it. There's too much of a curve on the spine, and not enough belly IMO.

That is part of the ergonomics of the design, not to mention the SpyderHole. You probably will not find a more comfy knife than the Sage. Belly is there, it's just one part of many to consider (Carbon Fiber, excellent steel, Fit/Finish as close to perfect as you can get, super affordable).
What kind of knives have you used in the past, that you've really liked?

Well they do have one out in s30v with blue g10 for around $10 more then you listed, but good luck finding one. But if that does not have enough belly for you then nevermind.

I'm not trying to say the Sage isn't comfortable, it's just that I don't like the looks of the blade. I like the sleek look of the Military's blade though, as an example. Don't get me wrong though, I like the blade steel, CF handles, etc. As of now I only have a SOG Visionary I, and a Benchmade Griptilian. Out of the 2 I prefer the Grip, because it's bigger, and easier for me to sharpen because it has no recurve.

I'm not sure if I'm describing what I don't like about the blade is clear. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I don't like the looks of the spine where it gently slopes down to a point. I prefer something more like the Military, where there's more of a thumb ramp, and where it goes right to the tip.

The blade looks too stabby; on that one it really does seem like there isn't enough belly IMO.

Give it a try and see if you like it.

The Police and Military are two knives with a large fan base. Give one or the other a try and if you don't like it flip it for the other. I'm sure you'll like one or the other.

Did you check out the g10 endura? I believe its discontinued but you should be able to find some on ebay or other websites.

I've checked out the Endura's, but I already have a knife in VG10, and I want to try a different steel. The Pacific Salt is based off of the Endura, with a different steel and slightly modified tip, which is why I'm considering it.

I'm not in a position right now to buy a knife just to see if I like it, and sell/trade it if I don't like it. If I was, I'd already have gotten the Military :p.

What about the ZDP189 Stretch? The FRN version is available in your price range and it has a fairly straight edge with a more pronounced belly than leaf shaped blades have.

I like it, but at Knifecenter, it's listed at $166.95, which is too much for me right now.
