Which Spyderco?

That's the CF version. The FRN version with ZDP189 is 129.95 at KC, but less at NGP.

This one? http://www.thebladeshop.com/Spyderco_Stretch_Blue_FRN_Satin_Plain_C90PBLE_p/c90pble.htm I'm not sure if this is considered deal spotting, if it is I'll edit the link out. One thing confuses me though. In the picture it shows a cutout on the back of the handle that implies a lockback, but in the description it says liner lock. Can someone with a Stretch chime in?

you could get the FRN FFG VG-10 version, that is less money.

I already have a knife in VG10, so I'd like to try a different steel.

It sounds like you want a custom, you're hard to please

Endura G10.

Wait, and watch out for the "PPT" Coming out next year. Big blade probably, kinda along the lines of a chinook.

Sorry, I'm picky, especially because I don't buy knives often. I want to get a custom, but I don't have the money for one :(. Oh, and any details on the PPT? I probably won't hold off buying a knife for a year, but I might buy it when it comes out if I like it.

Well, you've shot down quite a few good models. I'm not sure you can find something in that price range aside from H-1. I can understand the limited budget aspect.
I would recommend a Gayle Bradley, CPM-M4 steel, carbon fiber, same great fit/finish as the Sage...but I think you might say quickly say it's too heavy.

Are you looking for a skinning type knife? Is that why having "belly" is most important? Or is there a specific reason for the belly?

Hate to tell you, but the Military is top of the line. The Stretch is not too far behind. You would be amazed at how light/thin the military is. The handle looks too big until you get a grip on it - then the design makes perfect sense. The Military liner is one of the best out there. That being said, the Stretch isn't anything to sneeze at.

How much is the M4 CF Gayle Bradley, and how much does it weigh? I'm not looking specifically for a skinning knife, it's just that I couldn't think of a good way to explain why I don't like the Sage's blade shape.
ETA: HOLY CRAP $138. Must have it!

I'm thinking about just getting the Military, it looks like a good knife. If the blade was just a little bit longer and thinner, I would buy it.

That looks good, but expensive :(. Is it still being sold?

It sounds like you want either a stretch or the new Gayle Bradley.

The blue stretch has a ZDP189 blade which is what many call a super steel. Holds an edge for a long time and gets crazy sharp. Check this out.

And that PPT looks pretty freakin awesome. It will be on my must have list.

The Stretch and Gayle Bradley look pretty similar in handle and blade shape, so it comes down to which blade steel is better in edge retention and chipping/rolling? Right now I'm probably going to get the Gayle Bradley.

Good call. M4 steel is absolutely amazing. Plus you get some pretty CF scales too!!

Just my opinion, but I would refrain from buying anything at your posted link.
Since money tight, do yourself a favor and read some of these posts.

I bought my Griptilian from them because they had a good price($76 shipped at the time), and the only e-mails I ever got from them was a order confirmation, an e-mail telling me the 551 was backordered, and an e-mail for processing shipment. Nothing regarding actually shipment, which I wasn't happy about. I don't plan on buying anything from them again.
ETA: And now that I've read through a few pages on that thread, I'm never ordering anything from them again.

You have a lot of options listed here, and they are all good ones. Check out the Poliwog - I know it looks weird, but it really is worth the purchase. You will carry it and use it everywhere. It may be quirky, but it works!
