Which Spydercos are you warming up to?

To go along with my Which Spyderco(s) are you least interested in I think we need a thread listing models that you want, or already have, that originally you weren't interested in. As with the other thread, try and list what you didn't care for and what has changed your mind.

Air
I already mentioned this one in the other thread. For some reason it just didn't do anything for me. Now I'm liking it for the M4, wharncliffe blade, and I appreciate Gayle Bradley's approach to design. He strikes me as being "An engineer's knife maker"... form follows function and all that.

Saver Salt
The Saver seemed kind of pointless (no pun intended) as I already have an Atlantic Salt. After carrying the Atlantic around for a bit I think a slightly smaller version might be a pretty damn good carry knife.

Chaparral CF
I figured that if the 2013 Spyderco catalog can mix up the Chaparral and the Sage 1, I don't need both :) After reading other's sing its praises and noticing that it's a touch smaller and lighter I think I need one.

All threes knives discussed are on my radar. I would own the Air already if; it wasn't a liner lock and not a deal breakers but I don't like the idea of proud liners as well as the lack of pocket clip.
The saver salt is on my "to buy" list because I want a larger SE H1 blade (have a Ladybug SE Salt). I decided on the saver salt because it has a choil.
I have sage 3s and a CF Chapparal. If you have a want/need for a smaller blade at times and want an awesome slicer, definatly pick up a chaparral. There is enough sized difference to justify owning the two models.

I have to say when I considered getting a Military, I thought it was way too big. I tried one in a pass around and realized it was not too bad. Then the CRUWEAR version was announced, then CPM CRUWEAR was clarified and Joe talked it up, so I had to get it. Now, I love it. The knife overall, and the steel, are fantastic. I also was never really interested in the Manix's. I had a slight interest in the LW's but the steel held me back. When the S110V LW was announced, I was all over that. I also got a pink Squeak for my wife. I had no interest in the Squeak, but now think it is the best little Spyderco I have handled. I would rather have that than the Ladybug, Manbug, Dragonfly, and Meerkat.

Yojimbo 2. At first I thought they were just ugly but now that I'm kinda interested in the wharncliffe blade styles the yojimbo has caught my and I'm starting to think I need one.

Dodo. Again like the Yojimbo I thought they were ugly (still a little) but for some reason I want one and if funds would allow I would already have both :)

One I already have but was never interested in until I got one as an extra in a trade is the UK penknife. I wish I had discovered them sooner when spyderco still produced the colored s30v ones but now I'm having to play catch up and scour the classifieds for a carbon fiber and s30v FRN and I keep looking at the TI version which is still available but ill probably pass on that one

The Native and the Military. Not big on liner locks or lock backs. I own a Manix 2 and PM2 and love them. Wish they would offer more made in USA models with these locking mechanisms.

The PM2. It took me a lot of catch and releases to warm up to it. I went through a Green 204P one, a couple plain Jane ones, an M390 one, a 20CP one, and sold them all off. Some of them were bought just to try the steel but I couldn't get over the ergonomics. I was at my local knife shop the other week and saw they had a S90V/CPM154 sprint and when I held it, I wasn't even sure it was the same knife. The CF handles just changed the ergonomics so much and I had finally found the PM2 for me. And I got to support my LKS at the same time too!

I have to say the Vallotton, when I first saw it it looked odd to me, not something I was ever interested it. but after looking at them for a while, I got an appreciation of the almost retro design look of the knife. I finally picked on up, and although I don't EDC it. I still love the classic lines of the design and the overall F&F is fantastic!

I'm warming up to Spyderco in general. I always thought they looked kinda weird tbh. They still do, but then I bought a Tenacious and it just works very, very well.
I like it so much that I bought a UK pen knife two weeks later and that is great too.
Now I'm saving up for a PM2

This too. Already bought a Ladybug and Delica, along with the Tenacious.

Looking at the 2014 line-up for release late in the year...the Slysz Bowie is really calling my name. Sal has stated recently on the Spyderco Forum that a titanium scaled/Elmax bladed Pingo is due in the near(?) future as well, to which I'm sure I'll succumb.

The Szabo. Now I have admired the looks of this beast for quite sometime. The only thing holding me back has been it's size. But recently I have had the oppurtunity to handle one. And I love it. The scimitar blade shape is a seductress in it's own right. Not to mention that it is of nice thick S30V stock. The Compression Lock is a wonderful lock that I have been very fond of since it was introduced. And the black and gold cf on the handle is quite "striking".

I seem to be gravitating toward larger folders lately. The Szabo will be my largest to date.

My affiliation with Spyderco goes back to a decade before l was even born. Back in the early 1980s my Father bought a Spyderco C01 worker. As a young boy who always admired the utility options of a good folding knife ( and potential to be used as a self defense weapon.; if God forbid the situation arises)
I grew up always wanting one.of those. You can imagine.my disappointment when he traded it for a BUCK 112 Ranger.
I was even.more sad when l.realized that the C01 was discontinued. I then saw the film.Hannibal.and.noticed a Serrated Spyderco Harpy used by Dr. Lecter . I.knew l wanted.one. After l.graduated high school 2 years ago my parents bought me a VG-10 stainless steel handled serrated spyderco Harpy. I've EDCed it for.the.last 7 months or so. Marvellous. You initially think a serrated Hawkbill is.limited.in.terms.of.usage.but l beg to differ. It has cut ropes ; nets ; wires ; vines ; boxes and even repaired a canvas sail for my.nephews raft. I even.used it.once.to gut a deer we hunted.for.venison . Not sure if it's the tight tool for the job but it worked perfectly. I'm only afraid of 1 thing. Two of my friends owned the Harpy and they both got their tips broken. Am l.at any risk.of that.happening. And is.other anything a.serrated Hawk bill.is bad at ?
