Which steel to use?

I'm beginning work on a 2 1/2" gentleman's auto- 14k trim, ivory inlay, jewelled button. What should I use for the blade? ATS-34? Damascus? Which type? Suppliers?

I would go to Stainless damascus from Damasteel. Texas Knifemakers Supply usually has it www.texasknife.com

Seems a shame not to put a pretty blade with that trim.
