Which Strider should be your first?

Bladechick you rock!! I was just about to ask for a pic of all three different grips, and there it was already!

Photos are helpful especially those who are new to Strider.

I would go with a SNG as a first. Its what I chose and quite happy with it.

Lol no problem guys.
Thought it'd be nice as a reference to have a pic of all the choices.

I do not have a Strider yet and have actually decided to put it off for reasons but I would also get the SNG first. You don't want something too small or too big and the SNG seems just right, being the middle size.

I think the PT is an awesome little knife and many people love it but want something a little bigger but not overkill and that makes the SNG Lol. It really depends on preference and the PT has now been discontinued.

I don't believe it's been officially discontinued yet. I think it's just not being produced currently.
There is still hope for future runs, as far as I know.

I hope to see the PT again. A bit small, but a gentlemanly Strider... that's cool. :D

I bought a Buck/Strider on the bay a while back. I'm looking at Strider and if the Buck compares in size to the SNG, I would buy up a new PT if I could get one from a dealer. I'm kind of leaning toward the smaller blades and, apologies for going off topic here, but I sold a few larger ones to a co-worker.

IMO, (there seems to be a pattern here) the SnG.

Hoping to get one in the not-so-distant future but I may have to trade/sell a couple of my ZT's to get it.

To me it depends on what size of knife you like. If you are not sure I would agree with a lego sng then from there you could figure out if that is ideal or if you would want something bigger/smaller/cc and so on.

I like bigger knives personally so I like the smf. Here is a smf next to a few other larger knives. The sng is similiar in size to a para2

The SnG is the perfect first Strider. If the SnG can't hold you, then go with a bigger or smaller Strider.
And it's SnG.

If you have smaller hands I think a CC would prob fit u better! I started with a PT but good luck finding a PT these days! The SNG is a perfect starter! Not too big, not too small!! The SJ series really goes well in the hand also!!

The SnG CC was my first, followed by a PT from the exchange. Gotta say, I love both, but the PT can be a bit..... Underwhelming if it's your first. The SnG is perfect, so much so that I think a DGG one may be my next Strider.

The SNG CC is a bit slimmer than the lego models. There are comparison vids on youtube. I prefer the CC model. It rides more easily in the pocket. Here are a few photos of both my SNGs.

i know i want the sng first, but what variant! canada has 0 places to go and feel one so im gunna have to take a shot at one...i like the c, it looks like it would have better ergos, but the lego still looks classic strider and is cheaper:D

The CC handles are not only Smoother and slide in and out of your pocket easier, but the handles are 3-d radiused, so that the middle of the handle is standard-width, but the top and bottom of the handles are much thinner..by over 0.100". This makes the cc models feel so much thinner than the LEGO or the DGG. My cc SMF felt like a small knife. will really fool you.

Either way I think you'll be happy. Both are great knives.

One popular dealer is taking names for an upcoming run of PT's. keep your eyes open.
