Thats my dream knife, but I didn't recommend it because it was out of his budget. I have wanted one for a long time, but can't talk myself into the price tag when my Moras do everything I ask of them.
I was a big Cody Lundin fan after I read his first book, and he carried a very old and worn Mora style knife. For $13 I figured what the heck, and have been impressed with the Moras ever since.
dudethatlikesblades I would also highly recommend the Mora Bushcraft if you are wanting a heavier duty knife.
I'm looking for a general purpose survival/shtf/camping knife and I've come to a few decisions: The Gerber LMF 2, Gerber prodigy, sog seal pup elite. I want a good stainless blade that won't rust under $100. if you had to pick from the knives mentioned above which would you pick and why?Your advice would be much appreciated.
Is that true that the S1/F1 won't rust easily? I can relate to you a bit with the Mora Bushcraft Carbon. That's why I bought the Orange, which is stainless.Mora's are great knives and I have the Mora Bushcraft Black and a Stainless companion. Both are excellent knives, but my Bushcraft Black rusts very easy, if it gets wet or I don't oil it regularly. Actually was the main reason why I picked up the F1 after watching the videos on them being used in wet and winter conditions. However, the Mora can take a beating and for less than half the price of the F1 used it's a good knife. I still really like my Mora's, but they wouldn't be my primary go to knife for survival. That's just me personally, but they are excellent knives and Cody Lundin knows his stuff. I usually carry my Fallkniven S1 or Benchmade Bushcrafter as a primary, F1 or Mora Bushcraft as a secondary, and have a few neck knives when I go backpacking. I'm going snow camping this season, so it'll be my Fallknivens that I bring out due to the VG10 blades.

Nobody has mentioned the old time tested stand bye...... KaBar. With a little searching you could find 2 brand new knives for your budget!! Plus you can get them in plain edge! Don't forget they are 1095 also!
