Simple question: if you guys had to choose between these two, which one and why? (note: same steel, same thickness...)

1) Endura 2008 VG10, foliage green G-10 handle

2) Caly 3 VG10, black G-10 handle

Thanks

I like the design of the Caly a bit better. The choil and the jimping just make it a very easy knife to use and it slices like a laser.

Caly: length overall 7" (178 mm) blade length 3 " (76 mm)
Endura: length overall 8 3/4" (222mm) blade length 3 3/4" (96mm)

I would go for the Caly because it looks better. There is quite a difference in blade size. Or does that not matter to you? Caly is more compact and that's maybe better in most situations. But for me the looks of the Caly are much better than the looks of the Endura. I think that the Caly has a nice Leaf shape, which I like.

I think the Delica is the knife that's in the same class as the Caly. I haven't really held a Caly, so I can't make a good comparison.

If my only choice were between the two you specified, I'd take the Caly 3. I'd rather go with a shorter blade than give up having a 50/50 choil. If that were not enough reason, the Endura's handle has never felt right in my hand, while the Caly 3 feels great.

In reality, I'd spring the extra bucks and buy a Stretch II. Best ergos and one of the best blade/handle length ratios of any Spyderco I've ever used. It offers a good bit more blade than the Caly 3, but has an only slightly longer handle.

Caly 3. Cuts better out of the box, has a choil that gets your index finger very close to the cutting edge, has a wire clip and a blade length that I find more usable.

No matter what, you end up with a winner. I say Endura, but YMMV.
I tend to prefer largish, thin framed knives. . .aesthetically, at least. This, and maybe the wave, were probably the reasons I find it more attractive a package than the Caly. Are you more concerned with blade shape, blade grind, edge geometry; i.e. cutting prowess? Maybe the Caly is a better first bet. If general average edc usage is in your knife's future however, neither will let you down.

Warning---unsolicited advice ahead---

For about the same price as the Caly, you could get an Endura AND a Tenacious, if only to get two spydies! Why settle for quality when you can get quantity too?

Spyderco UKPK in orange G10. It's a slip joint but most people don't miss the lock.

I have both, but the Endura has enjoyed much more carry time. In the end it's about preferences, and I am an Endura guy. The Caly 3 also has a lot to offer. It's up to you.

They are both excellent. The Endura is longer and a bit heavier. The Caly is shorter and lighter and a bit classier looking. You should buy the one that feels best in your hand.
