Which traditional knives are you giving away as gifts this Christmas

My mom's guy is 70. I got him a Buck 373 stockman.

Update: Mom reports that her guy loved the Buck. In short, "He took out his old, dull one and dropped the shiny new sharp one in his pocket."

Now Joe is not a knife nut at all, and is not the kind of guy who would have ever bought himself a new one until the old one was dead or lost - especially not a new one that cost much over ten bucks! :D The guy is a retired bank president and worth literally millions. But he's also an inveterate tightwad (one of the reasons I chose that gift for him is that I once spied his old knife, and it was a piece o' crap congress pattern he probably bought from a gas station). So I was especially glad he took to the stockman. I expect he'll just carry this new one every day and use the heck out of it, and never give it a second thought. He's one of those odd "it's just a knife" creatures! :p

How 'bout you guys? How were your gifts received?

I had some family fly in from germany. My 2nd cousin gave me a Super Tinker Swiss Army Knife. This was actually my first knife pattern ever that I lost. I was stoked!

My Son came home New years day,so the Christmas present for him was delayed. I gave him a North Woods Scagel #17 Lockback - Black Buffalo Bone.
He was quite pleased, its a pretty good sized knife, and once sharpend it's a slick whistle. :p
