Which Tweener?

I own several beckers. I love them all. I want to get a tweener soon, since I don't have any. I eventually will probably get them all, but for now, which one should I get?

I know a lot of you will ask what I use it for. Well, I do a lot of stuff, including wood work, around the house stuff, food work, and most other tasks where knives are needed.

I would suggest the BK17 for what you are after. In my mind, it is the more versatile of the bunch.

BK16 as a versatile knife

BK15 as an elegant knife esp for steak :)

BK17 burn burn burn :D

Honestly, I think either would be great for you. My initial thought was the 16, but you would be well served with either of the tweeners in my opinion.

The only tweener I have is the BK-17. I like that blade style. So far, I've put it to use in food prep for chopping vegetables, cutting meat and the like. Also used it as a steak knife. It worked well for everything.

I have the FPR BK16 and the BK15. Of the two, I really like the BK15 for most of my around the house needs. It's even done a fine job of gutting / skinning a few small woodland creatures for dinner.

Woodwork, though, makes me think you might want to lean towards the BK16/BK17. If it's more likely to be used more for food I'd give the nod to the 15.

What other beckers you have?

A 2 blocks the 16
A 5 Blocks the 15
A 7 blocks the 17

Initially but well depends mostly on taste...

I love them ALL :)

I have a BK2, 7, 9, 11, and 14 The 10 will soon be over here too and I am considering also doubling down on all my Beckers among a couple other knives.

16 -- if you get tired of the drop point you can convert it to an FFG straight clip.
adding metal to the 17 to make a drop point messes with the heat treat.

This thread confuse you even more than before yet? :D

Get a BK 17

Yes I am a little more confused. I am leaning towards the BK15 more now. It was my least favored of the bunch, but not for any real reason other than looks. Sounds stupid maybe. The only reason I don't have a BK5 is because I am not sure what kind of a chopper it is. I mainly use my knives as choppers because I grab old wood from the forest (don't worry, not deforestation :) ) for farming/ gardening stuff. The only small fixed blades I have is an ESEE 3, the Eskabar, and a BK2, which really isn't that small. I can't even count the ESEE 3 as mine becuase it is my wife's.

For those of you that own a 2, 5, or a 7, how does the 15 or any of the tweeners feel in compairison?

I have a 2,14,9 and just got a 16. I thought the 2 felt great in my hand (a little heavy but overall pretty good feeling knife)--the only way I can describe how the 16 feels is this: feels like an extension of my hand/arm---fits perfectly---that goes for all the tweeners obviously---I think the choice boils down to what you like the look of the best--they will all suit you fine--I am much more of a drop point than clip point guy---i will probably never own a 5 or 15---they just dont appeal to me--
