Which two Leatherman MT's to keep from list and why?

Got it fixed. Loosened the pivot pin 1/4 turn, oiled it (yesterday) and filed the finger activator stop a bit. Now opens all the way about 90% of the time. Would still prefer an AO with the tools of the c33t.

Glad it's working for you. Yeah, i get your point about AO, but meanwhile I'm okay with the present arrangement.

The ST300 is the best tool I've owned in years. That said, if I HAD to scale it back, I could certainly live with the Rebar. I wouldn't get too hung up on the Charges premium blade steel. It's nice, but at the end of the day, it's still a MT with a blade on it. I would say that I would prefer the Wave or Surge for one handed opening full/plus size tools. The 420 steel does everything I need on a tool.

I would look at adding a Skeletool CX to your line up. Much more of a good pocket knife with pliers as apposed to a multitool with a premium blade attached.

I'd say the Surge would work fine if you didn't expect to used all the doodads on a daily basis. That's what sunk it for me. After constantly losing the bits due to the retention spring falling out of the driver, misplacing the file, etc. I just switched to the dead nuts simple ST300 and haven't looked back. I do miss my one hand external blade, but i can cope;)

I'm weighing between the Rebar and that ST300. I'm not too keen on external bits for the reasons you mention. And personally I don't place much value on the one hand external blade factor. I think designs with tools all on the inside have some offsetting upsides, namely that when closed the tool is very sleek and fits in a pocket better.

I'd like to know if the Rebar's still a beefy enough tool that I won't regret not having the ST300. I only want one or the other and am having a devil of a time deciding which.
