I'd like to find a decent six pound the axe. That council sixpounder is awfully unbalanced. And why have that heavy a head with such a short cutting edge?
it is not really for chopping. it is used for knocking off limbs and pounding big wedges into trees while they are felling. that is why they are 6lbs-- for the weight. When you are felling very large trees, the last 3 inches of the wedge can be really, really difficult to sink with a piddly 3.5# single bit. I just use an 8lb sledge hammer if i need something to really whack it with-- it doesn't mar your wedges nearly as bad.
