Which Verizon Phone?

Got a chance stop by a Verizon and AT&T store this week (only had about 15 minutes to spend in both). I didn't check out the features, just the feel for the typing of the phones and how well it browsed the net on a couple. Being a heavy set fellow, I found it pretty hard to type with any speed on a touch screen keyboard :\ Of course some of the problem would be with me not being used to the format, but the lack of the button feeling really just makes for sausagefinger button mashing unless you are very deliberate in general.

I tried the enV3 Touch and liked the keyboard, but I really hated losing the touch screen while opening the phone to type (makes for annoying browsing... clicking that damned arrow key).

Tried a few others, Storm, Omnia, etc. I was rather taken by one of the phones at AT&T, I think it was the Samsung Impression, which had a slideout QWERT keyboard and a touch screen, really enjoyed that one :) However, I kind of have it set up in my mind that I want to be able to open and type word docs and stuff - so that kinda of means I need a windows mobile phone or blackberry... I just don't think I'm able to be pleased with anything :(

My brother and his girlfriend are getting a new phone plan with AT&T and said they wouldn't mind a bit if I jumped onto their plan, so AT&T is also a possibility now (although all things being even I'd like to stay with Verizon)... Decisions decisions.

I use a Blackberry Curve 8330 on Verizon and I love it. I had a Storm but returned it due to lag and I hated the touch keyboard. The Curve is backed up to my PC and synced with my mail and documents. I have quite a few useful apps that I use regularly. Some were free and others I purchased, all from Crackberry.com.

My Curve arrives tomorrow. Who ever heard of an IT guy still using an antiquated cell phone?;)

My hesitance with the Curve is that, well, AT&T has the Bold and it costs more! That means it must be better! Wah! :(

not necessarily.

the bold is a newer model, but the curve should have ugraded software from its original software.

there may be a few applications the bold has that the curve does not, but the curves i have seen can do pretty much everything my storm can do.

I'm two weeks into a Blackberry Curve, On the CDMA network.

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it as I can't get it to sync up with my calender and email, service cost, ect.

I think it is a good phone, so if you get yours on the verizon network, it should work very well for you.
