Just a little question on personal preferance. Tip up or tip down? Left or righ hand carry? And why!?

Usually tip up, but I can also adjust myself to tip down if have to. And I'm right handed so use right hand

My flipper is tip down, right pocket.
my sebenza is tip up, but kept in pouch inside right pocket.

Tip up right front pocket. The pocket keeps the knife from opening and it comes out of my pocket in perfect position to open!

Tip up front right pocket, with a Vic Farmer in back right, and a Izula in one of my pockets as well.

Tip down right side for me. I thinks its easier to take out and get a grip, but i don't really mind if its tip up

Tip up always seems to be so popular. I find it is more difficult to get out and grip in tip up. I carry tip down, right hand.

I don't buy knives that do not have a strong enough detent to keep them from opening in my pocket, but i do see where you're coming from!

I don't care about tip direction, but I always carry on my right side (front pocket).

Usually tip up right hand front pocket...I've been experimenting with back pocket carry lately.

I prefer tip down right front pocket

I have some tip up knives but they take longer to pull out and open. I've discovered that with a 3" or shorter folder I can open it almost as fast with tip up, but anything longer must be tip down. I have some longer tip up knives that I like and I carry them despite the clip orientation.

Tip up, right front pocket because I'm right handed and I like that the blade is pressed against my jeans seam. A strong detent and the blade against the seam assures that the knife will not open in my pocket. I don't have any need for fast opening and I like to carry one with the least possibility of accidental opening.

Always right front pocket tip up. Then either a fixed blade lashed to my belt or a second folder in the back left pocket. The latter will always be right handed tip up and waved. Comes out fast and smooth in a reverse grip. Or slow and steady if I choose.

Tip orientation? Generally whatever way they come from the factory is the way I use them. Clipped knives go in right rear pocket. Slip joints go in right front pocket. Slip joints lie how ever they lie, vertical or horizontal; don't pay much attention to that detail.

Tip up preferred, but for some knives tip down can make do. I mainly carry on my right side, but when I carry two or more folders then I usually carry one on each side.

Tip up, right pocket - I am right handed. Got used to my sebenza as an EDC (righties come only in tip up right pocket orientation), so the rest of my knives are treated like so. Sometimes I carry in a pocket sheath, but more often than not, tip up, right pocket.

I carry minimum 3 knives, one tip up right front pocket (my main EDC), one with the same clip config left rear (my backup SD, I have my CCW right hand draw swell of my back), this knife is waved and as I draw it left handed it waves open in a reverse grip. The 3rd is my spyderco ladybug on my keys in my left pocket.

Sometimes I will carry a 4th knife, usually only if I have on jeans with a carpenters pocket I'll carry one tip up in there, usually a hawkbill or a hard use knife for workin. Also every once in awhile if I'm not carrying a gun I'll carry a large (4"+) folder tip down right rear pocket or carry a fixed blade on my belt about 5 o'clock.

... The latter will always be right handed tip up and waved. Comes out fast and smooth in a reverse grip. Or slow and steady if I choose.
Yep, I practice the draw several (couple dozen) times every day, I also don't use that knife for anything else to keep it as sharp as possible. Its very easy to do but you gotta keep muscle memory built up for something like that.
