Which would be better for a bushcraft knife, AEB-L OR 14C28N?

Awesome, great to hear about AKS hopefully getting some in soon. I've done quite a bit of AEB-L and never have tried 14c28n, just curious to try it.

I got from Admiral. They will cut it down shorter if it can make shipping cheaper. I am using it for slipjoints and it is my favorite stainless steel so far. But my data points are just CPM154, AEB-L,Elmax, 440c. For me I just click with it. It machines nice (drilling/grinding), grinds nice hardened, hand sands straightforward, and acceptable hardness without needing cryo.

We are still waiting on 14c28n to come in. Should hopefully have material in the next month or so.

I wish you folks would update the page to make it more clear. As the end user, it's rather confusing and misleading the way you currently have it set up. I would much rather see a "coming soon" page when you click on 14C28N instead of just showing AEB-L. Maybe create a link that you can click to sign up for notifications when it arrives in stock. The way it is now confused me a lot the last time I was trying to buy some 14C28N.

It will be updated soon. I'm more behind than usual on office/website work due to Chuck passing away.

Where are people sourcing 14c28n from here in the states? Like David mentioned, Alpha Knife does not have it in stock. When you click on the link, just like he said, it takes you to their AEB-L stock page. IIRC, AKS told me they were trying to have it stocked by fall of 2024, but as of now, they don't have it. Jantz does not have it on their site. USA Knife doesn't. NJSB doesn't. Pop.s doesn't. Only place I know of is GFS.
Jantz has it for sure. I bought some from them and just checked again👊🏼

Brisa.fi has it too.
I'm buying my steel from Finland rather than the US due to crazy freight prices.
Of course, In the US things will be different to NZ, but the funny thing is UPS is cheapest and gets to NZ in less than a week.
