Which would you buy: ZT 0777M390 or Brous T4?

I look at it this way.. If you use both you can still make money down the line on the 0777..not so much on the T4

I'm looking for a good "tactical flipper" - little on the larger size for weekend carry. I'm looking at the ZT 0777M390 and the Brous T4.

0777M390 hands down on service. It's the best in the business.

I purchased a Brous blade and upon receiving it I notice a manufacturing defect. After making several attempts to get Brous to respond to my problem, I gave up never having received any kind of a response.

I have a T4 and once you get it broke in its a flipping monster. You will wear out your finger getting it broke in though the detent is really strong and the flipper is kinda sharp/hard on finger. The T4 is super smooth floating on bearings probably one of the smoothest I own. That said I didnt get a chance at the 0777 so cant report on it and wont pay the 500+ they are going for so I cant give you a comparison.

Does anyone ever notice that the T4 blade is kind of shape of a dragon's head? The thumb "groove?" is the eye and the risen swedge is the nose. If the blade was serrated then the serrations would be teeth.

Back on topics...

For the money I would say T4. I don't have a T4... I missed the pre-order and now they're sold out... I'm going off my experience from the Reloader and SS flipper that I've owned in the past. Brous puts out good knives for the price. His flippers are excellent, but I would have to say 0777's flipper is near perfect if not already. I've never had a knife that would just so effortlessly glide back into close position yet the detent is still strong enough to product a perfect deployment. It's quite amazing that a production knife can be that good. The Reloader is a strong flipper as well, but it's definitely not as smooth as the 0777 and I'm sure it'll be the same with the T4. M390 is an excellent steel and one of my favorites, but unless you go on a knife cutting marathon, I don't think it'll really matter since both steels have good HT. I guess just go with which ever one you like after you handle them both. I can say is that 0777 will feel amazing since it's so light. It's like magic. I'm sure T4 will feel similar to the Reloader, heavy and well built.

You have M390 vs. D2, full 3D machined CF vs. full 3D machined G10, titanium frame lock vs. steel liner lock. It's not a fair comparison.

Granted there's about a $100 price differential in favor of the T4.

The magic of the 0777-M390 comes from holding and flipping it. It's ever so light for its size and quite a textured grippiness about it.

Personally, I have the Brous Division & Reloader but haven't touched them in several months.

The amount of raw materials, design, craftsmanship and manufacturing quality that goes into the 0777-M390 is quite remarkable for what you pay even for secondary market pricing.

The carbon fiber on the 0777 is fairly grippy, not like G-10, but its not super smooth. I have 3 and carry one most all the time. 0777M390 in one pocket, TilT in the other.

My initial thought is that the T4 will be the better fighting/defensive/tactical blade. I have to believe the G10 on the T4 will make it significantly easier to hang on to in a defensive scenario. I also think I like both the shape and finish of the T4 blade.

Both knives will arrive tomorrow - I'm eager to compare them.

I have the dlc and satin pluss the.original 0777pluss both t4the original 0777 kills them all brous uses cpmd2 the new 077 are so subpar its sad compared to the original the feell like plastic they are so light.cpm d2 is a great steel so is m390.I can open the t4s by just touching the flipper smooth I need allot of rist action for 0777'.the herring bone damascus spine on the first one adds the needed weight for great flipping and the handle is a little heavyier feeling and stronger the new ones feel like cheap plastic aftet all that time it eas such a disapointment.the g10 t4great for the price but not cf.cf t4 blows the new 0777 away in function fit and finnish.cpm d2 is a great all around steel never had it rustcause I oil my knives.not a problem to sharpen eather.Iim glad he sticks to it cause he does it well he could do other steels like crap but he sticks to what works for him.I never had d2 roll or chip same with 390 but you can put great components in a knife but the knife still sucks.doesnt matter.you can mske g10 nice also.
