Looking for a unique knife that is still good for light to med use. Which would you get and why?

Get a SAK and save yourself a couple hundred bucks haha.

But seriously, my vote is for the Strider, #2

I personally prefer this one... :D

I'm a user with utilitarianism in mind. Therefore, I'd vote the Umnumzaan but I'd certainly not be disappointed with the Strider.

PS: just my opinion, but that "model 19" is a aesthetic abomination. No offense.

If you want truly unique then you need to go full custom.

If I had to choose one out of the five presented it would be the Umnum, although I've had two and got rid of them. I'm just not a fan, but the fit and finish is exceptional so that would be my choice of the five. I would like a little Warren Thomas necker, but I've never been a fan of his folders. Strider, meh... The SR-1 is pretty sweet, but I prefer the Sleipner steel to the Damasteel.

I would truly go for option 6. To me, that's full custom and a lengthy wait.

You are the one buying the knife. Go with the one that you like best. There is not a bad choice in the lot.

That or do like Tony said, and go get yourself a full-on custom.. :)

I have little interest in the first 3 knives but I own several Umnumzaans and have a micro M19, as well as few other original design WT knives.

Lion and Warren Thomas are for heavy-duty.
The model 19 is too off-the-wall for me.
That leaves the Strider and the CRK.
Strider has appearance of tactical.
Pick the Umnumzaan: nice design, versatile blade-shape, excellent workmanship, carries easily.

I haven't seen an Umnuum in person, but Ive held a few Sebenzas. They just weren't my cup of tea. Semi plain appearance and the grip seemed slippery to me. Just my brief experience with them.

For those of you who suggested full custom, which maker would you go to?

I have to admit I really like the appearance of the Warren Thomas RC. If only it had a spyderco type thumb hole!
