Which Would You Choose

I gotta echo some of the above posters and give a +100 on the SG2 JYDII w/ Ti scales. Awesome knife.

Though the only flipper only Kershaw the I have is the Skyline (should get a NRG II in the mail today), from what your looking for I would go with some variant of the JYD II.

I would go with the knife that's in my pocket right now - the Groove. Stainless steel frame lock, G10 overlays for grippiness - feels great in the hand. The blade size and shape is perfect - small enough for daily EDC (whereas I think the JYD2 is too big), but big enough for heavy use.

i'm with spx on this one....the lahar and 0200 are great knives.....i'll tell u which one when they have their new handles and new grinds on em!.....ryan

Ok, just checked the mail and you know what I found? That's right, that NRG II I was talking about. :D

This is a good size knife (Blade Length:3 1/2 in). Plenty of heft, but not beyond EDC weight ( I wouldn't go any bigger though). This would be a good SD and survival knife. If it's too big, looks like the NRG I is just a hair under 3". The flipper works great, low profile when closed and disappears when opened.

Check the bay, I found a seller selling the ENG II for $29 shipped.

Welcome.

I sent a link to a friend of mine that I just introduced to Kershaws. He snapped one up too. It started when he saw my Blur. Next thing I know, he's got a CB Leek, know the NRG 2.

I think he's hooked.

Makes me feel like a crack dealer. :D

Were these ever done in 440A? I can't remember when they first came out...

Meh. Nevermind. At that price you can't go wrong! I just ordered two. Right now there are 25 left.

True. It's just that the photo shows the gray one, and the description says "black G-10."

I've noticed that with sellers on the bay who sell Kershaw knives (could be other things too, I just don't look for much else though). Especially, between older 440A knives and the new ones with Sandvik 13C26. A lot of times they'll list both, one is a description the other in the specs list. You got'a watch'em.

Does the Tyrade count? (it's AO)

I don't know how to use a knife for defensive purposes (hence, I'd probably just hurt myself!), but for everything else you mentioned, the Tyrade wins out between the ZT200 and the Dam Leek that I have.

The reason why is that the lockup is perfect and the CPM D2 steel maintains its edge so well.

I would count it as a flipper, and it is the one I would keep. The good thing here is that the ZT's; 0200, and 0300 along with it's variants, have a flipper, but also have the thumbstuds, so I would not count them as true flippers and since I'm doing the deciding I figure I can do that, and I get to keep them also! Can you tell I'm really liking my ZT0200? This is the third thread, in about 10 minutes, that I'm talking about it.:D:thumbup:
