Which ZT should I buy?

Hello all new to the forum. I have been collecting knives for many years and I also build some myself. I am looking into getting a higher end folder. I am torn between the ZT 0560/61 and the 0452cf. I love large blades I have been carrying a spyderco resilience for 2 years and I love it. Just feel like it's time to step my game up. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

I have both, and can recommend both, although for different reasons. The 560 is a beast of a knife, whereas the 452 is a slimmer, much slicier knife that disappears in a pocket. I think a good compromise between the two would the be 0562 in carbon fiber and M390 or 204C, whichever you can find.

I like the 0452CF a bit more than the 0560. I also like the 0562 a lot, although it is a bit smaller than the 0560 and 0452CF. For general EDC, though, the 0450 is quickly becoming a favorite. It's smaller than the others previously mentioned, but it is very compact and still carries a decent length of blade.

Welcome to the forums, I have had both knives, I sold the 560 though, it was a solid knife, my first ZT. The textured G-10 grips felt good in the hand. The blade fired open fast with the flipper. Personally I'd say go for the 560/61 or even the ZT 200 if you want a really big knife. The 452 is a nice slender knife, I consider it more a collectors piece or a fishing fillet knife. I would carry it for defense as well.

452cf is great but a LONG blade. My overall favorite is the 562cf.

Wouldn't the 0560/1 be the slicier blade? Seeing as the stock thicknesses are the same the "taller" blade of the 0560/1 should equate to a more acute primary grind, no?

Out of your choices the 452CF wins hands down.

Werd.

Close second would be the 0562. I can't let go of either one. I think the 0452cf is the best zt has to offer right now. They ditched the useless scale liner, slim design, ergonomics hug the hand, squared detent for that snappy flipping. Makes me want a 2nd one but I avoid buying dupes these days.

I've owned both plus the 0562 m390, I like them all but found the ergo's a little lacking on the 0452 I still have the 0560 and 0562 but I sold the 0452. If you really love the design I don't think you'll be disappointed but I prefer the 0560/1/2. Good luck, is there anywhere near you that you could handle both?

Out of the ones in the pic, 452cf, 560 custom, 562cf, and the 550. The 562cf is the one that finds its way into the pocket the most.

The 0425cf and the 0562cf are a toss up for my favorite, non-LE, Zero Tolerance knife. Right now the longer 0452cf is getting more pocket time because, well, it's just awesome. It's baby-brother, a clip-less 0450, is my go-to office carry at the moment. It's awesome-lite :)

Zt0560 hasn't left the pocket since I got it a couple of months ago. I have the ZT0452cf and that is a keeper.

The 560 is an AWESOME knife and is a tank, but not by weight. The 452cf is a larger blade and lighter, but fits, IMO, small in hand (very sleek). IMO, you've picked my two favorite ZTs, and the only ones I keep in my EDC rotation as a civilian. I use the the 300 at work as well as the 560; but the 300 is a little too heavy for EDC, IMO.

I suggest, you go try out them both, and see which one suits your draw and ergonomics.

I'm still amazed at how well the 0452CF disappears in my pocket. I haven't been able to put it down since I got it. I never much cared for the 0560 as the jimping on the spine made flipping less than pleasant for me, so if given those two options, I'd definitely vote for the 0452CF. That said, I've never picked up a knife that was more comfortable in my hand than my 0562 so it'll always have a place in my collection. They're just very different blades, though both excellent, so it's a matter of your uses.

Lot of variables between the two. I have big meat hooks, and only two of my knives fit my hand better than my 0561: Kizer Ki423 and Spyderco Manix 2. If you have small to medium size hands, the 452cf will fit you better.

Also of note, my experience has been that the Hinderer ZT's are lazy flippers as they have a somewhat weak detent, whereas my 0801 rockets out like its got a 428CJ mounted at the pivot.
