Whick knife would you rather have strapped to your hip?

Of those listed I'd say, based mostly on specs, that a rampless Bravo 1 would make good sense. I have an A1, and although it cuts well and I find it comfortable, it's on the heavy side and is weight biased towards the tip of the blade more than I prefer.

Serrations are great for cutting bread and rope, but I don't see much use for them beyond that.

Yep. If I have to bet my life on a knife, you'd better believe it will be constructed of Jerry Busse's 52100 (SR101). When toughness, strength, edge-taking, edge-holding, ease of sharpening and affordability are all taken into consideration, it's an unbeatable cutlery alloy that's suitable for neckers to choppers. The only thing lacking is corrosion resistance. But that's a small (and manageable) price to pay in comparison to what you get in return. That's why I keep a Camp Tramp in my home BOB and a RatManDu in my vehicle BOB. And it's why no other knives mentioned in this thread (or anywhere else, for that matter) have any chance at all of displacing them.

Thanks brothers, because thats what you are to me. :) I prolly should of said that I have a Martindale Golock, I have choppers, I have hatchets & axes, I have saws, my purpose is to find that one knife that you grab heading out the door because lets face it, you can have all kinds of sharp cutting/chopping things and if they ain't on your person...what good are they? One stop shop, thats my goal and so far I think everybody is favoring the SR Ratmandu, and she's a workhorse.

One knife for a little bit of everything....BK-2 ! It's not the perfect slicer or chopper or prybar but it can do prettymuch everything ! or the ESEE5 ! Pair either of these up with a good pocket knife (Vict. SAK Hiker or Alox Farmer) or a good Multi-tool (Leatherman Wave) & your all set ! If I'm going to the woods for a day or camping I like my 9/11 combo - Becker BK9 & BK11 Piggyback -

I gotta say out of the production knives I really like Becker & ESEE the best ! Hard to beat for the money !
