Here's my confusing story
I read a lot of the threads posted in whine and cheese and I didn't think the prize was too shabby either so I participated and eventually won. I was ecstatic about it when I contacted him. He preferred for us to text instead of email so i obliged. Small talk about the knife, my address, giving thanks, etc. ensued for about twenty or so texts that night.
About a week later I excitedly ask for an update on the 14th.
No reply.
I ask again on the 19th.
He replies on the 21st saying he just got back into town from south of the border and that his assistant should have sent it.
I text on the 29th, 31st, April 3rd, and 10th trying to get him to respond. I say I'm going to start a thread on April 10th to try and find someone who can contact him.
He texts on the 14th saying he is out of the country for extended periods and that his assistant should have sent it.
I reply on the 15th basically confirming what he said.
He texts on the 16th saying he knows what went wrong. His assistant sent to Michigan instead of Illinois so it got returned and it will be re-sent.
I text back same day saying I understand.
April 26th, May 10th, and June 3rd are me asking what is going on and wanting communication. Ive basically given up by now
June 6th he sends a text of him telling me he doesn't know whats wrong and that it was sent a long time ago with insurance. He says he has another of the same knife and says he will send the second one.
I text back that I done know whats up either and that i haven't got it. I ask for confirmation that insurance was purchased and say I feel bad accepting that.
Its been two and a half weeks since he last said he was going to send it. I don't want to badmouth anyone. I'm simply putting up what I don't understand. He seems to be a well liked and respected character here on the forums and he has no reason to be deceitful He specifically asked me to take a picture when I get it so everyone knows its "legit" so it seems like he is not trying to lie. Its been three and a half months of no communication and excuses so thats the other side.
I just don't know what to do.
Ill text this thread to him but I done know how long it will take him to see it.
P.S. I don't know why he wouldn't have taken his cellphone with him when he leaves the country.
