Man am I sorry! I really dont like teasing.
Mike, I typically do not care for tantos either. I have had many in my hands over the past couple years (Striders most notably). This is very different in my opinion. It is highly refined and I really view it more as two blades on one knife. It is like a nice modified Wharncliffe with a sharp swedge...but the swedge is on the blade side instead of the spine. I wish you were in my area sometime soon, I'd like to get this into your hands and see if it changes your thinking any.
blah blah blah...on with the pictures...
In this next photo, you might be able to pick up on the apparently smaller profile of the tanto...its really about the same height, but it looks (to my eye) quite a bit smaller...perhaps it is the lighter color blade?
Something else that is different about this (as compared to say a Strider or other typical tanto blade), is both edges have bellies. The curvature of the edges (I think) gives it a bit more of an ogranic feel and this causes the transition between edges to seem muted (it is still a crisp angle but the curved edges make it seem a little less "pointy" and "edgy"). I could be FOS, but it really seems more gentlemanly than tactical...you tell me.
As for hitting the button...I am not sure. The DT was ordered by phone, and I recall fondly ordering it while driving back from lunch to my new job...it was a good day (bad weather, but a good day). This one, I just hit the button...it was easy because 90% of the money came from returned christmas. I ALMOST ordered another one about 30 minutes after I clicked buy on this one...a hot deal came up on the exchange on the model that will be my next CRK purchase. It was almost too good to pass up...almost
