Whisky

I seriously got alcohol poisoning from Old Crow. When I was in my early twenties, I was at a bachelor’s party when gentleman Jack was passed around until the bottle was killed! We were already drunk from the countless beers had during the day of debauchery that was had and the JD put us over the top. When nothing else was available to drink someone pulled a 5th of Old Crow and cracked the seal. I took the first swig and for some odd reason it tasted like home-made wine. To this day I would swear that it was home-made wine – yes that is how drunk I was. My buddies were like if that is homemade wine go ahead and drink then. After convincing another guy that it was homemade wine we split it down the middle 50/50. Needless to say I didn’t wake up until the next evening and felt the effects for the next three days. I finally went to the campus doc and he hooked me up with an IV and diagnosed me with a borderline case of alcohol poisoning. Years later I picked up a bottle of Old Crow and I am still amazed how I could have mistaken such a potent concoction for homemade wine! Cheers!

whiskey usually makers mark, jim beam, early times totally cash dependant when I walk in the liquor store. Ever so conveniently 2 blocks away. Here lately its been
cheap beer and everclear. Leaves me more knife funds and still gets to the gone like right now:cool:

YEAH everclear. The drink of champions. Why pussy foot around???? That is liquid dynamite :D

I play round robin with the following:

Jack Daniel's black label, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, George Dickel #8, George Dickel #12, Maker's Mark. Those are the usual suspects.

As for scotch whisky, I like the smoother Highland's stuff. Glenlivet usually, but I have a couple bottles of cheaper Scotch right now, Aberlour and Famous Grouse.

For what it's worth, my preference is Dickel #12 sippin' WHISKY from the great state of Tennessee. I assume I've tried everything else.....

Good thing you like the 12. The 8 is going to be limited to certain states for a while.

Check this out: http://www.dickel.com/features/dickel.gold.html (You may have to log in.)

You might want to try a bottle of Dickel's new barrel select. I forgot to add it to my hit list above, but I do own a bottle and recommend it.

Glenlivet is my drink. If you get a hankerin to spend $60 on a bottle, try the 18 yr. It's smooooooooooth.

For my poor days (most of the time) I drink McClelland's Highland. At $20 it just can't be beat.

While we're talking whiskey and scotch, how do you prefer yours? On the rocks? Neat? A little water added? For me, whiskey is on the rocks and scotch is neat or occassionally with a tad of water added.

Moonwilson, Jack Daniels is not Bourbon! It's not just because it's not from Kentucky, but because it's charcoal mellowed.

Edited, should have read the rest of the posts before correcting you, someone already did.

Pappy Van Winkle's 25-Year Bourbon.

Unbelievable that a Bourbon can take that much barrel aging but it does and gets as complex as some of the best scotches.

The Macallan 25-year of Bourbons!!!
