• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Has anyone used their bush craft skills to make whistles, and does anyone know of different designs other than whistles made from branches ( might not be able to find the proper type universally)? It seems like whistle making might be a good introductory project for kids to learn knife use, and help reinforce field expediency skills as well.

The only way that I know how to make whistles is from willow branches or aluminum cans. The way to make the aluminum whistles can be found on youtube. It's interesting and fun to make, and rewarding being able to make something with just a knife and some scrap materials. Hope this helps, J.
