White Box Stove review From the Becker Contest

Thanks for the picture.

Well heck, while you're divulging... would you mind saying again (a) what diameter bit you use and (b) how many holes you space around the stove?

I use a 1/16 drill bit, about 18-19 holes 1/2 inch down from the top. I have made stoves with 18-19-20 holes. Not much difference in overall performance that I have been able to detect:)

Tradewater, how much fuel did you put in for the boiling test? I made one yesterday, but I am questioning its efficiency. Thanks for the help. Dave

I filled it to where the upper ring is. I didn't measure how much it was, but it was quite a bit more than the pepsi can stoves hold. It might be helpful to pull up the White Box website, I'm sure it will give the stove's fuel capacity on there. What problems are you having?

The flames seem awfully high, so i'm thinking smaller holes are in order.I put 2.5 oz of heet in to boil 2 cups of water in a small saucepan(from the kitchen). It took about 5.5 to 6 minutes to boil, but it boiled very rapidly for 10 minutes. I'm just not sure that its all that efficient.

venom energy drink cans are a little thicker and will go together with just an interference fit

hardest part of assembly on the venom can is removing the plastic collar on the top - dremel cut off wheel makes it easy
