My brother did not take this. The elk are in the wild. These Bulls were supposed to be spotted in Logan Canyon, Utah. But, I am reminded of a story I read by Peter Chapstick a African White Hunter later game control officer who has some fantastic books BTW, about a guy who always hunted hard and had killed many trophies. The guy always wanted a huge bull elephant. Finally after years of effort he found a remaining bull with huge tusks. He removed the shell from his chamber, took aim and pulled the trigger on the empty chamber and turned and walked away. It isn't the kill its the hunt. I grew up in Montana and had the pleasure of hunting a wide variety of game. I have shot flocks of birds, some great mule deer and white tail, pronghorn antelope and several bull elk. One day when my brothers and I were in a week long deer camp and having a great time, I was out and saw a couple fine muley bucks running up a hill and nailed the largest. A great rack and running shot. But, as I walked up and saw him laying dead, there was no thrill, actually I was a bit sad. I never before thought I would understand that. I understand and believe in hunting. There is a lot of great things about it. I haven't shot anything sense. I did take my sons hunting for years after. But, some times its better to just let it run away.
