Its been a long time since I've banged anything out of layer but those are pretty cool is the lightning bolt a solid piece of Nickel?
Ken.

I love the knife pattern and the damascus; I'll leave it to you to determine whether those sharp points are comfortable! :D Great knife.

Damn, Mace, here I thought it would be some good recipes for mash and still designs:rolleyes:.

That is just an awesome little knife, classic old style shape with the lightning bolt giving a modern almost pop culture look, like from some IFC movie where it's the special knife the leader of the "white lightnings" gang uses it for like cool knife fighting and stuff, or something like that;). Is it inlayed into the steel? it looks like it sticks up from the surface I am dyin to know how you put them together, nickle silver pins maybe? I have seen where you can't even notice the pins or just barely like that. The W's is also just damn gorgeous.

I like the damascus. I'm not sure how I feel about the handle and the lightening bolt. Perhaps if it were inlayed into a more conventional handle? Or would that be missing the point? (I've been know do to that..)

Far Out!
Pretty cool,I like the coffin shaped handle and that's some nice looking Damascus.
I'm curious as well to know how the lightning bolt is attached.

Doug :)

Very nice Mace! After you got the "W" pattern you wanted, did you do an accordian fold? I'm courious about the "Z" also.

Thanks for the comments guys. Here is what I did. This is my third damascus knife(first full tang) and I just couldn't bring myself to cover up all that nice looking steel with a conventional handle, so I came up with the lightning bolts.
I made a pattern and cut out two bolts, glued them together and filed to shape, drilled holes where I wanted them in the bolts then clamped one to the tang and drilled the knife. They are glued on and the pins are peened into countersunk holes then filed off and finished.
Thanks for looking!
Mace

Do you have pics of the bolts you cut out and glued?;):D:D

Nice one, man... better be careful, though. If you keep doing stuff like this, people will think you're a knifemaker and not a semi-professional gunrange attendant!:D:D

mace i dont know which is better the knife or the fact that your surrounded by such Photogenic terrain. i've gotta pull my self away from my job and get up there a couple weekends. i know its close but ive been working 6 days aweek 8-10 hours aday, for a young slacker like my self its allot. but to get back on point, awesome work mace and congrats on your new class.
