Andy, what is "Aldo's 1095" ? how does it differ from 1095 ? did you grind this blade from bar stock ?
thank you. i like the look of this knife.

Aldo's 1095 is just that. Aldo Bruno ( The NJ Steel Baron )has some of the best blade steel I have ever used. Its all I use now. A lot of makers have gone to Aldo for steel. He commissions smelts, and is the only place I know of that offers W2 bar stock. His 1095 is great, throws a nice hamon and finishes smooth as O1.
This blade was forged from 5/32 bar stock.

Andy, thanks for this info. Until now i had thought that all steel labelled as 1095 would be identical. But now i know that it can be made in a superior manner. Kinda like bonds and this 1095 is triple A +.
I agree with Aldo, super efficient looking user, but i must hold back as i already have more than 20 Custom Hunters.

Aldo does have the good stuff. I was like you Roland, then I started haveing trouble with some 1095 that I bought from a reputable steel supplier. Finally I figured out it was either O1 or 5160. With Aldo you get what you pay for.
