who a going to I-de-ho ?

While in the neighborhood of Post Falls Idaho I'll be visiting wildlife-packed Yellowstone National Park (about 8 hours drive from Post Falls) and the Cody Firearms Museum (about 9 hours drive from Post Falls) "The Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West houses the most comprehensive assemblage of American firearms in the world." http://www.bbhc.org/explore/firearms/ While in Cody I'll visit Jeremiah Johnston's resting place: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=jere...=63&tx=68.4000244140625&ty=143.80001831054687

Look for me when you're in Yellowstone.

I'll be walking from Lima, MT through Yellowstone and down to near Rawlings, WY after I leave Post Falls.

I'll give you my cell number when I see you in Idaho. Maybe we'll be there close to the same time.

Years ago I spent a week camping/hiking in the outback of Yellowstone, climbed remote Electric Peak in a 24hr push and then walked around astonishing Shoshone Geyser Basin, eating for three and lost a lot of weight in a few days. Altitude averaged over 7k ft in the giant elevated caldera that is Yellowstone. Grizzly bears left turds the size of my forearm but escaped my direct contact. Love that place.

Cody feels like home. The real Old West. I could live there. Buffalo Bill, the most famous American in the world at one time, was given a bar by the Queen of England and I sat at that bar in The Erma Saloon in Cody (I had a grilled cheese sandwich as I remember).

Have a great walk.

I remember when you went to the big 20'th bash there how excited you were to be there!! A you also brought back a LOT of new/old Bucks too..I know many BCCI members would go if they could..Like me..But maybe I will make the 30'th !I hope there will be a video of some of the events as this is the big one so far and if I can'i go at least I can see some of what I missed..

Heat treat: If I brought a medium sized 1095 steel drop point blade (blade only) would Buck heat treat it for me? It is a build project. I don't have access to a forge to get the high temperature that I need.

I am sitting in the train to Berlin on the way to the airport. Next stops: Frankfurt, Seattle, Spokane. I'll arrive tomorrow at 6 pm after roundabout 19 hours flight time. The way is nearly half around the world, circa 6000 miles. Looking forward to see you.
Haebbie

Have a safe and happy trip over the Pole, short cut, Haebbie and you other vagabonds (you know who you are). I should leave for Spokane Sunday AM and drive about 350 miles from my home near Portland, OR to Spokane, WA. I hope to visit the wildlife refuge South of town, 15,000 acres of swamp, see the town, Post Falls and arrive at the hotel Tuesday.

Haebbie

Looking forward to meeting you there.

I have been making my way to Idaho. I am in Wyoming this morning, but plan on being in Glacier, MT by the end of the day to get two days of hiking in before the last little drive to Post Falls. :)

Left Grand Rapids, Mi this A.M. Staying in Sioux City, Iowa tonight. Headed to Fargo, N.D. to pick up I-94. Getting closer to Idaho every day.

How do you get a RSVP to Georgia Foresman for the Chuck Buck head count at the picnic? It was in the Newsletter, but no POC?

Arrived safe & sound. The drive was without event. Good weather (it is the middle of sommer), good roads & lite traffic.

Visited the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge near here & was excited to see one adult & two small moose feeding on shrubbery at 30 acre lake. I have still & video of the moose encounter. Also spotted a swan, four deer & a few diving ducks in what is called the "scab lands" that is this swampy & forested refuge.

The Marebeau Motel is just off' & is visible from, I-90 which cuts thru Spokane & Post Falls. I'm @ the Riverbend Inn tonight, within walking distance of the beautiful Buck Factory ($78 + tax, king) in Post Falls, ID. What fun for me. Pawn shops on my to do list for tomorrow here & in gigantic Spokane.

Buck is astones throw from the large (easily visible from the freeway) Greyhound Park & Events Center. The n. Idaho Centennial Trail is between this hotel & the freeway so a terrific walk on it to the Falls Park is in order when the sun comes up. The trail goes all the way to core d lane.

BTW, I'm the 6' something fella wearing the black Orvis short-sleeve shirt, glasses, over-fed, short sparse & grey hair with shoes on both feet. :)

Haebbie made the journey from Germany intact, per email.

I hope that everyone has a safe & enjoyable trip.
