Who actually makes cold steel knives?

I try to follow Mr. Levine's discussion as to knives and quality, which is essentially look at the knife and not what is written on it.

I've found many Cold Steel products to be well made and that is what matters.

Many of the worlds knife makers can actually put out quality product, it is just many people choose not to pay for such - so they make cheaper knives instead.

The Voyager series is very good, and has replaced my Delica / Endura, as fine as they are.

Buck used to make those original fixed blade tantoes for Cold Steel.
Camillus made the Carbon V line.

Jill,
Don't ask me how I missed this yesterday but my brother has one of the early tanto's bought circa 1988-1990 , he'll get a kick out of hearing it may have been made by Buck knives. Great knife, I wouldn't doubt at all if it was a Buck product.

All I know is that I have seen the Cold Steel Voyagers used or abused in the construction field and they still lock up and with a little stone work and edge comes back.

I have chopped down small trees and branches with my Carbon V Recon Scout and Carbon V Kukuri and both sharpen to a wicked edge.

I have also had great luck with their AUS 8 blades taking a very sharp edge much easier to sharpen then some of my "better" steel knives.

For the money a Cold Steel is pretty hard to beat in my opinion.
