I use my Mayo Talonite ultralight daily. I am in Tennessee for a National Boy Scout Conference and we have been cutting (and cutting and cutting) manila rope for days now. I have also used my Mayos for a screwdriver, prybar and to stir paint... Calm down Tom, they ARE mine now...

mayo,

what do you want engraved? i think only cp titanium is something i would want to try engraving on or 416 ss that i use on all my knives. let me know what you want engraved.

Its all a matter of opinion. What one person thinks is to much to spend on a knife, is cheap for someone else. Some people get bored with the same old styles of production knives, or tired of spending $50 -$150 to get a production knife made with mostly good materials, when they could spend a little more money and get a custom knife made with exactly what they want. One good example is the Delica 98 by spyderco I'm carrying one right now, it has an ATS55 blade which is good stuff and is made with very good grinds, fit and finish. But the handle is made out of Zytel. Not that theres anything wrong with that, its a good knife, but it could be better. There are better handle materials out there, and better steels out there too. My next knife is going to be a benchmade 720s. Its about twice what the delica was, but it has a better lock and a better handle, and should last me more than two years like the delica has ( it needs a new handle) But thats my limit. I use my knives very hard, and have come pretty close to losing them, so I can't see spending much more than $100 on a knife I'm going to use daily.
And when I finish some of the folders I'm making, I'll use them daily. Because I can make them out of the good stuff for less than what I can buy a folder made out of the good stuff.

It'll feel better when it stops hurting.

I have a Mayo gent's folder, 420V blade, that I bought second hand in like new condition through the forums. It's not too nice to use, it's too nice not to use. I carry and use it every day. That's what it's for.

could you put the cp ti on the left side of the knife? the spring side will have a clip anyway i presume and that will inhibit the engraving space on the sided of the knife.

come on timmy....step up to the plate....I only have .100 cp......the 6/4 makes em STRONG!!!!!! I like that...btw...I carry my New Ultalight 24/7...carbon fiber with ti insert for the lock and 440v blade. 2 oz!! picture can be seen at the tom & jerry forum under "New Model" but NOT here.

I own a beautiful Talonite hunter made by Tom...it has a 3 1/2" blade w/bone Micarta handle....it is "flawless", in that there are no visible flaws to the naked eye.
I use mine all the time and wish I could use it more often!! I have no use for any custom knife that I won't use....I enjoy using a knife that is well made and cuts well and sharpens easily.
BTW, Tom is one of the best makers out there, bare none!
