Just pure curiosity here. Based on responses, I know we have law enforcement officers, military personnel, students, ministers, various craftsmen, knife makers, one actress, and at least one dentist in the forum. What do the rest of you do?

I suspect that our community spans all different professions.

To start, I ended my 10 year teaching career this May and am returning to grad school (for library and information science) in the fall so that I can eventually get a stable and less hazardous job.

Oh and I'm a guy.... I just love dealing with life and death issues, the gore and seeing people turn the corner from almost dying to living due to the team interventions. Don't want to say where exactly I work, but it's damn close to LA, California.

I'm from Bucks County, PA. From 1994-2001 I worked full time in a pro camera / video store called New York Camera and Video in Quakertown, PA. I learned a lot about photography while working there and spent most of my earnings on photo gear and knives. :) Then I left there to go work with my brother on Newgrounds.com which is a website he started that just exploded and is still growing to this day. I am still currently working for Newgrounds.com and have also returned to the camera store on Saturdays to help them out and get myself out of the house since I work from home during the week.

I am a Recent College Graduate, BS in Design Technology with Dual Specializations in Illustration and Graphic Design/Publication. I have a job making signs for a beer distributor for low wages, as there are no jobs in this area for my line of work. I am just getting by until I get around to moving- maybe CO or AZ. Oh, And I am "wasting" alot of money on knives too. :D

USAF Gulf War veteran, Firefighter/EMT, husband, father, brother, son, knife knut, sheathmaker. That's all you need to know. ;)

I'm a writer/content developer for an educational software company, and I also teach English. My wife and I live with our cat in a geodesic dome in the Sierra Nevada foothills in Northern California.

Me ??? I'm a "everything" guy at a Point of Sale company. I only aspire to never work another day in my life and to drive across America and stay at all of your houses , eat your food , drink your coffee and fondle your knives.
Oh yea and maybe play with your dog , I love dogs.
On the side I work on computers and do yard chores for single MILF's in exchange for pie (the kind you eat you pervs!!) ;)

K.V.Colluci , thank you for your service to our Country.

I am a facilities director at a retirement community and have worked with seniors about thirty-five years. I manage to do everything from plunging toilets to teaching basic computer skills. :)

I've been married for 13 years to my Wife/Best Friend. We have a female Jack Russell and a male Dachshund. Both are totally spoiled and rotten. I collect knives (big surprise huh), am a rabid UNC basketball fan, Jazz head and pistol shooter. I hold a BS in Criminal Justice and have been a Juvenile Court Counselor for the last 16 years. However, on 7-1-05 I'm going to work for our County's school system as their Truancy Intervention Counselor. Hopefully, this position will give me the opportunity to work with kids and families at a much earlier point along the continuum. By the time they get to me now so much damage has already been done. So I'm quite intrigued by the prospect of being able to address and correct truancy related behavior patterns, which, statistically speaking, are an early indicator of delinquent/criminal behavior, unemployment, drug use, early pregnancy and poverty. Sorry to go on for so long but I'm really excited about this new gig.

As an 18 year-old kid I was a door-gunner in 'Nam ('72-'73), killing people who were trying to kill me & my helo crew. I've also been an EMT since '78. I was a Deputy Sheriff for 8 years 'till I screwed-up my back via an off-the-job injury. I now work at the same college that I graduated from in '90, as the Supervisor of the Security/Parking Enforcement Dept.(for the past 15 years).

Father of three boys..Husband of 18 years. Sales person..part owner of a multimillion dollar import company for several years. Sold my shares and took a simple sales job.

thats about it...

I'm a criminologist working at a university in Ontario, Canada. My specializations are contemporary criminological theory and national security studies (read: counterterrorism policy). I teach now, but I will never stop learning. Married 3 years to a very patient neuroscientist who puts up with my tendency to cover any and all available spaces in either knives or books.

All the best,

Mike
