You only get three choices. You can discuss why if you like, I'm just curious to see who everyone likes.

Have you met your favorite makers? How many of their pieces do you own? etc. etc.

my #1 fav is ernest emerson, i have 2 of his customs (CQC6 & '8) and really like his designs, his custom stuff is as good as any imho, for what i use them for.

#2 is pat crawford, i have 3 of his, Ti kasper, micarta kasper & Ti perfigo, pats stuff also rocks and he is a great guy to do biz with, havent ever met him but have talked on the phone a few times.

#3 is bud nealy, i have 2 of his a pesh kebz 5" M2 and a amoeba, they are my A#1 favorite carry knives when i wanna pack fixed blades, they carry & conceal as good as any i have seen, and his workmanshipis first rate also.

i will say as far as F&F go the #1 is darrel ralph, he would be a close 4th anyway but the 2 examples of his work i have (4" maxx and a 5.5" maxx) are second to none in that regard, both of them are absolutly perfect, built like a swiss watch.

Interesting question, but me be the first to cop out and say what a few others probably will ....... 3 isn't enough, and with the relationships that build up with alot of the makers in the custom field it would be a bit like naming your favourite friend .... impossible!

There are styles and FnF that make a few Knives really stand out for me, but being an avid ABS collector the makers capable of delivering that are more than 3, and I have met most of them with one or two exceptions.

If I had only to 3 knives to take to a desert island? .......... thats for me and the cocunut trees!:D

Cheers,

Stephen

1. Buster Warenski - Need I say more? RIP Buster
2. Herman Schneider - Incredible fit and finish, and a great guy too!
3. Bailey Bradshaw - A true artist and great teacher.

I am with Stephen.

To many friends all of them highly regarded as people and makers for me to be able to say. I will mention one maker who has become a second father to me is Sava Damlovac. He is a lessor known M. S. whose work is exceptional, but so is the work of a multitude out there.

1. Ed Fowler (distinction of his knives and his life)
2. Dr. James Lucie (bringing Scagel's influence to a new generation)
3. Bill Moran (father of the ABS)

There is a strong sense of character, individual vision, and integrity that I admire about each of them.

You should have given us more choices!!! Here's mine....
  1. Bill Moran
  2. Don Fogg
  3. Burt Foster

OUch ! Only three , your killing me #1 is Busse :D #2 Hossom:eek: #3Chriss Reeve.;) They make great knives but more import they are great people that I have the pleasure of knowing.:)

I have too many favorite makers to pick three. Cliff Parker is at the top of the list. But if I could pick three knives to own right know, they would be :

Large Fogg eastern style Bowie.

Tony Bose Single Blade Folder.

Large Hogstrom Dagger.

3 isn't nearly enough!!! 1. David L. Mosier 2. Darrell Ralph 3. Rick Hinderer.

I listed three makers, and after I was finished, others flashed through my head. Sorry, but picking only three is just about impossible for me.

Same here Keith, after listing three I came up with several more that were equally favorite. Anyway the three I listed are still in the top of my list.. Don

Hill Pearce is my top icon. Tai Goo is supporting runnerup. Everyone else is vying for third.

Funny, how some of the names that come to mind I don't even HAVE a piece in my collection. I have 11 of Hill's and two of Tai's, FYI.
