Who bought the 2014 Eric's Jack?

I've put together a list of Forum knives by year:

The 'alternative' Eric's Jack comes up now and then, but I've never been able to come up with solid information on it. My guess is that threads must drop off the forum at some point, and the archives are not searchable (if I'm wrong about this, I'd welcome some guidance). I gather that there were 100 made, any recollection of cost? I understand the scale material was donated, who? What was the material? Canal Street, right?

The list is my own work, but I'd like to make it as complete and accurate as reasonably possible. I welcome additional information and corrections.

And while we're at it, what about the 2012 fixed blade CKC knife?

Well, I bought one, but I've slept since then, so I can't be much help. They were sold through one of the dealers, who posted pictures of both sides so you could pick stag you liked. I just snagged one at random, and got one much nicer than my forum Stag Jack. It was also 440C stainless as opposed to the 1095 carbon of the forum knife.

Charlie C. got the ball rolling on that one. He liked the forum knife entry so much he went ahead and ordered 100 knives as a secondary offering. That REALLY surprised me when word got to me about it. I don't recall the details on how that number came about or how the ordering process went. I think they were somewhere around $100 but I might be way off on that. John Lloyd donated the stag as Txjohn mentioned. It was on the new boys knife pattern and Wally only went along with it on the condition that I make the knives since I was most familiar with the parts. Seemed like a great project (and honestly how could I say no to an opportunity like that, with Charlie spearheading no less!) so I happily agreed. I didn't know about the "Eric's Jack" etch until Jean showed me the stencil, THAT really blew me away, mighty humbling for sure. Blades were 440C, liners and bolsters were stainless. I don't recall who did the label art but it was definitely someone on the forums. Was it T. Erdelyi?? For some reason that's sticking in my brain but I might be wrong. Also lost in my brain fog is who the dealer was although I think it was Gunstock Jack

Just as Eric states. I'll add one additional tidbit. There was a pretty vocal group of members that were hoping for a stainless steel forum knife. Charlie came up with the idea of the Eric's Jack as a peace offering to that contingent. I bought one myself. A fine knife. The fact that John Lloyd had donated the stag, and the knfe was built by Eric was the icing on the cake.

Charlie I think we have too much patina on our brains! It's cloudy up our shiny memories LOL!

Eric
That's why I wrote to Barry!!
His answer to the questions, 'did you draw the labels and sell the knives?'

"Hi Charlie; yes and yes. I drew up the label and had them printed, and glued them on the boxes, then sold them as well. They didn't sell well but did eventually all sell. They are highly sought today! BJ"

It's cool to hear the story of the Eric's Jack. I'm a fan of anything from Eric (Canal Street, Red Trout, and Albers).

Have a great night.

I added the Eric's Jack to the list, see the link in the OP. Once the 2023s start shipping I'll add them to the list.

Thanks to everyone who has helped with information, and as always, I welcome corrections.

What is the feeling about the 2012 CKCA Club Knife? A kind member sent me a link to a very good thread regarding this knife:

My take (fallible) is that it was a Custom Knife Club knife that didn't have a direct link to BladeForums, although it certainly got a lot of interest here. My list isn't 'Official' or anything like, so I can certainly add it if the mob... er... Porchies want to see it there.
