I bought one and I love it. I'm very new to khuks, but I now have 3 (the 15" pen, a BAS, and a 20" Sirupati). I haven't done much with the sirupati, but I have done some chopping with the BAS and Pen. The pen comes in at 22.7 ounces while the BAS is 18.2, and the extra weight makes a pretty big difference when going through larger logs. Since it is a relatively short length it is very easy to control. Also, the weight seems farther out toward the end (sorry, I'm not really up on the lingo if there is a special name for that part of the blade) on the Pen, and I think this really helpds with chopping.
The Pen was my first khuk, so of course I quickly wanted more, but now that I have the others I'm pretty sure I could have been happy with just the Pen. To me, it seems to be the perfect size and weight for an all around camp knife.
