Who can give me jaw drop sharp?

Spyderco Sharpmaker! im not saying I've tried all other sharpening tools in the world but with little practice and a strop you can get your knives sharper that razors.

RJ Martin has made people bleed many times at his booth. Spydie Chinook II gently hit my finger and drew blood when I pressed the lock and the blade swung down

You could always sharpen a knife to how you want it.

Some steels have limitations which prevent certain geometries, though you have to go fairly extreme in order to see them, edge angles under 10 degrees per side on very thin grinds.

email replied to , this is what I was trying to say.

;)

I say Opinel Slim Line out of the box is sharpest in my experience. Spyderco Sharpmaker is not a great choice to sharpen a 12C27 steel. Moreover, the 15°-20° slots makes sharpening angles too obtuse. Much far better a fine Razor Sharp dry hone, then stropping with CrO on leather.

I would have to say that Spyderco delivers the most consistent sharpness out of the box, in my opinion. Marbles and Buck also rank way up there.

At least, Marbles used to. I haven't bought one in a while.

Bark River knives also come super sharp, and the convex grind is nifty.

I've had some Kershaw's NIB that had some wicked edges on them. When I buy a nice I'm not buying it because I think it will be sharper than another knife. I buy it because I like the look, feel, and function. I know I will be putting my own edge on it that will be superior to what I'd expect to find on a NIB knife.

The way I see it, and others have mentioned this too, is the knife's sharpness out of the box isn't as important as the edge grind and evenness of the grind.

I think what you're looking for (whether you know it or not) is sharpening skills. Learn to sharpen your knives and you'll never have to look for the sharpest knife.

The sharpest knife I own is probably an old Camillus 67 stockman that my grandfather gave me years ago. Those carbon steel blades take a wicked edge. Of my EDC knives, my Endura is probably the sharpest, and I feel that it stays sharper longer during my normal use.

Different knives with different grinds will have different charateristics.

The answer you're looking for is find a good knife and learn to keep it sharp.

I have never purchaced a knife for its inital sharpness I have always bought my knives for their steel, size, function, grip, intended use, general astetic apperence, and type of blade ( serrated or non serrated 50/50 or chizel)and craftsmanship. I have always felt that the sharpness is my responsability. I have always resented the " that knife isnt sharp enough so it must be a POS " mentality.

sharpest knife i've come across was a new spyderco - I something about a 30 degree on v-10 maybe

Hi, i read a lot of threads recently. Occure to me the impression from other people is Spyderco knives are sharp. even describe as "scary sharp" And people bring up spyderco's sharpening tools for few times.

This bring up my curiosity.

BM 630 is famous for build and money, CR sebenza is what people say "sharpest ever purchase. sharper than 630" Combat ellite is "Sebenza quality" words. words. words....that really mess my heads.

so who is Sharpest if you must say? Is Spyderco outstandingly sharper then all? or They are just as sharp as BM 630? i understand exaggeration of loving one knife. Or Sebenza is the sharpest period, end of searching.

To be honest and No offense to all fans of Spyderco knives. I don't like how Spydies' look. Must say they really spidy looking to a creepy degree. That really not my taste. But for my curiosity, I might really buy a A.T.R. to end it. since my draw still has room.

Let me know how you think. Thanks.

None of the above. Learn a bit about sharpening and you can beat them all!
