You would be surprised. I did a scabbard for the sword "Ice" from the same series. The gentleman paid a pretty good bit more than the sword cost. That thing was a beast by the way. Also working with a coyote pelt with the face still on was nasty. This one would be expensive because of the one off metal work required.Appreciate the props, Bill!
I wanna know how much someone is willing to spend on a one off, highly labour intensive, hand made, multi media copy of a copy of a stage prop for a $230 knife that is intended solely for display.
Just really curious. There's no way in hell I'd take on that job myself
Precisely. The scabbard work required for a 3000 dollar custom sword and a thirty dollar flea market special is the same.I equate it to building a garage, doesn't matter what you park inside, from a Yugo to a Lamborghini, the garage is a garage and it doesn't care what's parked inside, it just has to be well made.
of course you can do extravagant garages
But I've had folks tell me the price is too high as their knife costs a lot less than what I'm asking for just a sheath, most times they will still have a sheath made, other times I've not heard back from them.
It goes like that sometimes...
