Who carries a GEC 33 conductor/whittler?

GEC can just go ahead and do another run of these any old time they want. Then they can take my money. :p
^ +1.

View attachment 699761 The other one is the Dog Paw Conductor. I'm not sure if the dealer is a paid member. I'll send you their name. He still has them I believe.
Dude, that super light colored stag is fantastic! It's what I was hoping to get when I ordered mine. In the unlikely event you ever need to sell that one, I'd be honored to give it a new home. ;):D

Oh, man. That twisty, stripey jig pattern is perfect on this pattern. & Love the pecan background. :)

I got two of the dog's paws recently in honor of pups I've lost. Sydney was a black and tan German Shepherd mix who always wore a dark green collar. Kody was a very fair red Husky mix who always wore pink. *I* wouldn't be caught dead in pink, but it suited Kody's fair complexion. :p

Thanks, It's a kind of Winterbottom Bone that was called amber. In those days the stainless knives with the acorn shield had a squirrels & acorns etch, so nuts seemed appropriate! That Pecan Pie was made with Maple syrup, mmmmh:D

Paul Thanks for your words of appreciation, the faux Tortoise is one of my favourites and often carried. In the 2 blade Pen form, these knives all have impressive W&T. Nice associations and connexions for your Whittler:thumbsup:

Regards, Will

Oh it is, it's release date was the day I proposed to my wife. After learning that I searched the interweb for it and later had it in my sporran on our wedding day :D

The story makes it even better. I am not the sentimental type but that is a special one.

I'm ogling this thread. The size seems perfect for my preference.
If they came out with new ones in some sort of nice wood or composite covers, it would be hard to resist.

A Conductor whittler in ebony is one that I carry from time to time.

Ok I need one. GEC must do another run. If you are reading this and have an extra one wasting away in a drawer, sell it to me and I'll look after it for you :D

D2 steel.

I had a Queen whittler in beautiful bone stag. But the main blade was so borked that it would hit one of the small blades upon closing. Kinda put me off Queens forever.

Whoa! Never seen one. Thanks for posting it! What steel?

Yes they make these with D2 steel. I would say the fit and finish is a bit under GEC. On mine I don't have any trouble with the blades hitting each other, there is some blade rub if you aren't careful opening the blades but the GEC had the same issue due to how many blades they put in a small frame.

Interesting that the Queen 48 Whittler gets a mention. It is similar to the GEC Conductor and might well have been the inspiration for the GEC knife. It's slightly bigger but shares the Swell Centre architecture. The one I have is from the early years of this century in White Carved Stag Bone and like a lot of Queen knives of that particular era, is extremely well finished. It equals and bests anything GEC has made so far, plus it has vastly superior steel. No gaps, play, blade rub, sunk pins and fantastic loud snap, a real gem. I have to say that current Queen knives do not for the main part, seem to be on this level of excellence at all .They have recently released their 26 Small Stockman frame as a Whittler and this might be of interest too.
