I carry one of two Large Regulars quite often - either factory swedged or tanto. I'm an architect, so I use knives for office tasks like pulling staples, cutting paper and opening boxes; and also around job sites - sharpening pencils, poking into flashings, scraping paint... just poking around on site visits.
The large Sebenzas are the knives I carry in situations where fixed blades are a little too forward. I rarely hesitate to use them at meetings or in other people's offices.
The only carry knife I have that's less threatening than a large Sebenza is a Small Sebebza. On the very rare occasions where someone has made an OMG-type comment about the Small, I've given them a bit of a riposte.
I have gotten a few generally good-natured, "now that's a knife"-ish comments about the Larges, but they are usually meant in fun. In that sort of situation, I'm happy to roll with it and just say, "yeah, I enjoy knives".
I think it's perfectly reasonable for an electrician to carry and use a Large - even if you're working in private homes. Just err on the side of prudence in terms of presentation.
