Who do you think the best blade grinders are?

Well THAT, Tony, is certainly Exhibit A.

Two thumbs up for Bob Lum!

You would be hard pressed to find a flaw in Ron Newtons grinds, of all the knives I own his and Harvey Deans stand out!

J.P. Moss....hands down the greatest flat grinder I have ever seen!!! You will not find a wave or a dip in his blades, if you used an electron microscope to look. No less than Harvey Dean asked Mr. Moss at a knife show, how he got the blades so damned flat!! Given the ultra high quality of Mr. Deans blades..that's high praise indeed!!!!

Can't get him to make any more though..he's retired and his shoulders shot from steel work for 30 years or so. If you ever get a chance to handle one of his blades (I have 7 of them)..you'll see what I mean!

This is a very difficult grind. How about Tim Hancock and Harvey Dean, John Fitch is pretty damn good also.

Definately Harvey Dean. Of the smiths (yes, we still do a bit of grinding..lol) I would also throw in John Perry and Mark Sentz. Don's stuff looks great, but he is using that magic steel which almost forges and grinds itself, so he is kinda cheating:p :D

OK......now that we have heaped praise upon all of these great mostly living artists, it is time to declare the indisputable all-time best grinder of the modern era..........and the winner is.........drum roll.............D. E. Henry. I doubt that I will get a whole lot of informed argument against that one:D

This guy Wheeler is no too bad. This pair is S30V, btw.
